"Having just spent a week at Globales Cala Bona I can definitely say we would return!
We were welcomed into the hotel by a gentleman after arriving via transfer and was talked through how the hotel works and other useful information. They use a token per person when you’re after a drink by the pool for use of a plastic cup and get the token on return of the cup, a pool towel is provided and if you’re looking to swap for a fresh one they do charge €1 so that there isn’t unnecessary changing of towels, however this wasn’t a problem for us as we took our own. They did try to offer us ‘All Inclusive Gold’ which consisted of all the alcohol on the menu, coffee machine in the room and a few other bits however again didn’t feel we would make use of this and declined.
There were plenty of options when it came to the food at all meal times with various styles of potatoes, a few types of meat, fish, salad bar and desert selection so always found that there was something on offer that we enjoyed. The waiting staff were great too, taking away empty plates quickly so we could try something else!
We were placed in room 301 and found it great, we didn’t use the living room as didn’t feel we needed it but can see how it would be great for families to use with the sofa bed option and 2nd tv that did have a few English channels which was a nice surprise when getting ready for dinner etc. The rooms were spotless on arrival and the cleaners were great throughout our stay. Each of the rooms balconies face the pool so have a decent view.
The lovely towns of Cala Bona and Cala Millor are within walking distance and host a number of supermarkets, restaurants and bars which we would highly recommend ‘Indian Taj’ for a superb meal on the seafront. Though watch out for the cycle path that gos through them as we found that people wouldn’t care if you were in their way or not!
The outdoor pool was cold but nice on a hot day, we didn’t have any issues with the sun beds however going in the middle of October isn’t the same as summer so can’t speak on if it would be harder. And the warmer indoor pool was nice when the weather wasn’t great on a few days.
On departure we were contacted by reception to ask us about a breakfast option, transfer arrived at 6:30 so well before the ‘breakfast’ slot so they had laid out for those leaving a small selection of bread, meet and cheese with some spreads - which I thought was very thoughtful as not sure I would’ve been able to go the transfer length!!
We booked through Jet2 so the transfer time from the airport to the hotel was around 1 hour 20 depending on if you were dropped first or last, if you were to go privately it would be around an hour.
The only think I think that was personally missing was a slightly bigger area to great ready for the evening (putting on makeup etc) The vanity in the bathroom didn’t have a lot of space to put any belongings and there was only a full length mirror in the bedroom. I think maybe adding in/moving the already existing desk and chair with a wall mirror wouldn’t go amiss.
Overall I think this is a great hotel for families and couples alike and would definitely return if looking to stay in the area again"
