"To set the scene we are a retired couple in our 60s, and we stayed bnb. This is a 'small' hotel when compared to many of the others in Playa Blanca, but you must remember you get what you pay for. It is well described in other reviews. Staff, couldn't fault them, friendly and very efficient. Food. We only had breakfast, a large and varied range of hot and cold. Eggs cooked to order. People we spoke to on all inclusive had no complaints. Bars. Small bar by the front pool open during the day and another one in the evening. The 'beach ' bar by the back pool never opened. Supermarket. Small but very well stocked and prices cheaper than the local supermarkets. We just bought drinks from it to drink by the pool and on our balcony. Room. Separate bedroom, bathroom, lounge and balcony. Entertainment. Very limited, but we found out that you can pop across the road to Tbh Tropical Island in the evening and see theirs. All in all very good and would suit all ages, including families. Thank you to all the staff."

"Honest feedback so people can make an informed decision, depending on the type of holiday they want. We travelled as a family of 4 (with boys aged 11 and 12), all inclusive. The apartment was spotlessly clean and big enough for us all. There was a sofa bed in the living space for the kids and a bedroom for us. There was only one aircon box situated in the living space so we had to keep the bedroom door open at night so that the air could circulate. The bathroom was clean with a big shower (it had a hand held shower head and a big rainfall head too). The two pools were lovely-one cold water, the other heated (although it was still cold). Plenty of sun loungers around both, with ample parasols too. The beach bar at the top pool was closed the entire time we were staying (it was blocked off and was being painted a couple of the days). The bottom bar was open all day and there was a crepe van too (crepes and hot dogs available but a long wait). The restaurant was never full and there were always plenty of tables to choose from. This may be different in the summer months but we certainly never felt rushed or had to wait for a table or food. There was plenty of choice at breakfast-cheese, meats, fruit, cereal, pancakes, pastries, breads, hot food selection as well as staff cooking eggs etc. Lunch and dinner were similar-a salad bar always open, as well as fresh pizzas and chips. The meat option varied daily but included chicken, fish, beef, pork. There was always paella available. Sometimes the food was a bit on the cool side if it had been sitting but again this might have been due to the fact it wasn't overly busy so wasn't replaced as regularly as it might be in the summer months. Overall, food was lovely. There was basically no entertainment at night, so something to keep in mind. If you're wanting a quiet evening meal and peace to enjoy a drink then this is perfect. If you're wanting some sort of show/entertainment/disco etc then maybe look elsewhere. There was music playing but advertised as a 'kids disco' so maybe if it had been busier the atmosphere would have been different. There are a couple of pool tables, an air hockey table and a ping pong table indoors but not much else. During the day there's a timetable with an activity from 3pm until 4pm run by the same guy who was lovely and brilliant with the kids! The activities included darts/ping pong and basketball. There were other options but these were the ones our boys joined in with. The shop on site is handy and has the basics. Staff were lovely throughout our stay. If I'd known how much there was to do within a 10-20 minute walk to the beach/town/harbour I'd have opted for half board. Playa Blanca has so much to offer! Overall a fantastic holiday! Hope this helps people decide whether this is the place for them!"

"Lots to like about this hotel and also quite a few things that could be improved. Cons: - Despite their website advertising icecream in the good truck there wasnt any the whole holiday as the "machine was broken" and had been for some time. For lunch and Dinner they had a freezer with Ice cream posts, so why didnt they give out those instead whilst the machie was broken and how can it take over a week for a hotel to get on ice cream machine fixed? - I was served a mouldy baked apple at dinner from the buffet. I cut it open and thought that it looked a bit dark, took a bite then saw a big fat green mould patch on the inside, I showed this to the staff at the hotel. There was a lot of noise between the kitchen but NOBODY ever came to me to appologise. I saw the baked apples every night for two nights before, so I am guessing they were the same apples that had been reused - Weirdly (some may say planned) there are two pools bars, but the one thats open is next to the pool thats not heated so everyone from the busy side has to cross the hotel to get a drink. - not allowed hot drinks with lunch and dinner, which is really odd! I like a tea or cofee after dinner , but your not allowed here - Few issues when we checked in, Safe was locked (should have been checked as part of prep for next guest), The TV in the Bedroom didnt work (was fixed quickly), the phone in the room never worked the whole time (not a big deal for us as reception was just round the corner) - There was no evening Entertainment on any of the 5 nights we stayed - building work noise the whole time due to building work in the hotel that we were NOT told about before hand. - General issues like the pool table by the pool being broken and the burned in restuarant sign that would have cost less than 100 euro to put a temp sign so it doesnt look like a hostel. Pros: - Staff were great, everyone was very friendly and helpful - Hotel generally looked after - Room spacious enough - Big TV in the lounge with english channels - Food (that wasnt mouldy) was of a good variety and better than another hotel we stayed at in Playa Blance last year - Quiet location and near to Aldi - Even though it was Easter the hotel never felt over busy (although that could be becuase many of the rooms were being upgraded at the time). - Crepes were very tasty (bit slow to make but worth the wait) Would we stay again? Yes if some of the things above can be improved. None of the things in the cons were major enough to really impact our holiday and we all had a great holiday."
