Dream Bocayna Village

"We arrived after a long transfer in the evening to be told that we would have to stay in another hotel with very little explanation. We had to walk to the other hotel 10 minutes up the road with very heavy cases. A house keeper kindly helped us with cases. We had to return at 8 the next morning to ensure we had a "good breakfast" , bringing what luggage we could manage back to the hotel. We went to reception where we met a really helpful receptionist, Nicole who told us that we had to wait for a family to check out of our room and then have it cleaned. She could at least give us an explanation of what had happened. The company had double booked. We had to walk back to the other hotel until having to return at 1pm for a very disappointing lunch. Back to reception, room would hopefully be ready at 3pm , we eventually got into our room at 2.30pm. we were told we had been given the best room but was actually the room we had booked and paid for. Room was good, outside area was amazing, the only good thing about this hotel. We were all inclusive but ate out most of time. Breakfast was average, lunch was poor, dinner was the only decent meal. Drinks were awful and we went to the bar on the day we left to get a snack before our flight to be told, " we don't have snacks". Worst all inclusive hotel l have ever stayed in. Had to ask for our room to be cleaned on the 4th day, very poor clean. We had a nice holiday but out with hotel. I will go back to staff, we met 3 receptionists, one rude girl on arrival, the gentleman was lovely and Nicole is an asset to this hotel. We actually contemplated getting a flight back home after the horrible start to the holiday but Nicole saved the day. A lot of filming going on with them drinking fancy cocktails, you should be looking after your guests. Would not recommend this hotel."

"Just returned from a very disappointing 7 night all inclusive stay at this property . I wish things had been different. Let’s start with what went wrong: *no staff to check us in when we arrived late at night. The property was in darkness nobody was around and as an all female group with 2 children this was a big safeguarding issue. *3 days noisy/dirty work being carried out on the jacuzzi area next to pool bar which we were not pre-warned about *maid service every 2 days did bare minimum- pulled sheets over and emptied bins. Hung the wet towels we had left on floor for her to change back up so we were left with smelly wet towels to dry ourselves . Had to go to reception and request more. * early morning noisy delivery of concrete blocks directly outside our bungalow * coffee machine in room but have to pay separately for the pods 1.50 euro each *4 bottles of water in fridge when arrived but this was not replenished during our stay which we thought was a reasonable request as we were all inclusive * all inclusive bar next to reception where we could help ourselves to drinks and snacks was closed and told to go to pool bar instead except we could not help ourselves there as the snack offering was seriously depleted and had to ask for snacks but wasn’t sure what snacks they had as no menu to refer to plus drinks were not available and had run out despite being advertised as all drinks being included *cocktails both alcoholic and non alcoholic were poor and poorly presented apart from our last day when they were filming and doing photography of the property and they had made some fancy looking ones up then for promotional reasons but this was not a true reflection of what guests actually got * only 1 member of staff on bar which meant lengthy waits for your drink if people in front had ordered cocktails *2 of heat lamps in restaurant weren’t working which meant that the hot buffet food was Luke warm at best *wifi advertised as being available throughout property this was not true. I the connection was very poor and rarely able to connect *food labelling not always accurate- a soup labelled as vegetable had pork and chicken pieces in it which my vegetarian daughter discovered * gym - poor selection of old equipment and it was rusty and dirty with no air con or ventilation in the room so VERY hot NOW Let’s mention what was good as it’s important to mention that too: * the size of bungalow and outside area * the staff were friendly and helpful *the weather *pool wasn’t too busy and able to get sun beds However I would not recommend this property to others unfortunately ."

"Lovely spacious 2 bed bungalow which was spotless. Housekeeping came every 2 days. The terrace was huge! Nice to sit out in an afternoon. Bungalow had air con and was equipped for self catering however we were all inclusive so never used equipment except for fridge. Hairdryer in bathroom, and pool towels from reception. Shower gel in bathroom. The food was always fresh and of a good standard for all inclusive. I particularly liked the ala carte table service for evening meal (buffet also available as well as). Bar and cocktails good selection. It is a quiet spot with no entertainment and a good 10 min drive into town (Rubicon Marina is nearest) so if you’re after a lively holiday then this isn’t it. We wanted peace and quiet with a nice swimming pool for the kids and that’s what we got - some lovely winter sun! There was a pool table too which kept them busy - you’ll need 1euro coins. Reception staff were very helpful as were bar and restaurant team. I’d recommend a car for getting about, however I do believe there is a good bus service but we never used this. Only downside was our room wasn’t ready when we arrived so they put us up in an upgraded room for the evening with a hot tub, but then we had to move out on the second day to a standard bungalow (which we’d paid for) which wasn’t an issue but it meant we couldn’t unpack straight away. All in all a great stay and I would return."
