"We've enjoyed our week-long stay in a 2-bedroom apartment as a family of three.
USEFUL TO KNOW:
- The WI-FI is very strong and reliable, with at least 3 routers that cover the territory of the apartments.
- The "double" BEDS are two singles pushed together, with separate mattrasses and blankets.
- The PILLOWS are very long and narrow. We found the ones in the double bedroom quite hard, but managed to swap them for softer ones from our twin bedroom. There are 2 pillows on each bed, so there'll be some variation.
- Two of the 3 POOLS are heated: the one by the restaurant and the one up the stairs from the reception.
- There's only one LOUNGER on the patio/balcony of each apartment. Plenty of loungers by the pools, of course.
- BREAKFAST menu has plenty of hot and cold foods: full English, cereal, toast and pastries, cheeses and cold meats, fruit and jams (the cactus+banana jam is worth a try!). Plant milk is available, but I couldn't see any gluten-free options.
- The breakfast is served 8am-10am.
- EVENING MEALS (if half-board) have 3 meat and fish mains to choose from, plus a pasta dish and various sides and salads. The starter is normally a soup. Dinner is served 6.30pm-9pm (in summer: 7pm-9.30pm).
- The comments about the food not always being piping hot are justified - some serving trays seem to be heated better than others. There's a MICROWAVE in the restaurant room, and I've seen people warm up their food, if desired.
- Please note that you'll have to PAY FOR any DRINKS with your evening meal (including water). For a family of 3, we paid about 9 EUR for our drinks each day. Our half-board deal was pretty cheap though, so we thought paying for the drinks was fair.
- Poolside café is open 10am-6pm (in summer: 11am-7pm) for LUNCH: drinks, ice-creams and a good selection of hot food (burgers, hotdogs, fries, toasties, salads and great smoothies).
- There's a Spar SUPERMARKET next door and a larger SuperDino around the corner.
- A large plaza with lots of bars and RESTAURANTS is across the road.
- The BEACH is a 10-15-minute walk. We haven't used it, as there were strong winds here (in mid-April), which meant there was often a red flag on the beach. We did see some people swimming and surfing there at other times though.
- The CLEANER comes at around midday each day to change the towels, empty the bins, tuck in the beds and mop the floors. There was a bottle of red wine, a sun hat and a cute canvas bag as a welcome gift when we arrived.
- CHECK-OUT is at 12 noon, and the pick-up point for the Jet2holidays bus is just outside the Nazaret Apartments gates.
- The general bus stop and TAXI rank is also next to the apartments.
- Public TRANSPORT is easy to use. Tap your bank card to pay on the bus (a single ticket to the capital Arrecife is about 3.20 EUR). Buses to Arrecife run every 20 minutes.
- If you're travelling with Jet2holidays, you'll get a booklet and a list of half-day and full-day TRIPS available to book, including a volcano trail and various cruises.
- The nearest attraction is Lanzarote AQUARIUM, which is a 20-minute walk from the apartments. You can book a day ticket online (no discount though) or just pay on the door. It's well worth a visit to see the sharks, turtles, string rays and a good selection of tropical fish. There's a sports bar just outside the aquarium which offers good lunch options.
TIPS:
- If you're going half-board, you can see the evening MENU displayed in the poolside café in the afternoon.
- Oversized PEGS for securing your towel on the lounger are available from nearby shops (normal-size pegs are available in each apartment as well).
- You can ask the reception if a LATE CHECK-OUT is available for your apartment the day before you're leaving. If it's available, the cost is currently 30 EUR until 3pm and 50 EUR for an even later check-out.
- There's an app for LOCAL BUSES. You can also ask the reception about the bus times.
- A very niche tip for POKEMON GO players: you can get exciting African and island regionals here, including a Pa'u Style Oricorio.
- Get your free books and MAGAZINES from a swap table at the reception."
