"I came with my partner and two daughters (M53, F49, F26 & F19). We arrived late due to a delay at Gatwick and before we checked in we were advised to go to the restaurant to get some food before it closed. Once eaten we went back to check-in which was done very quickly. I had booked two rooms and after reading the reviews that there were no lifts I emailed the hotel beforehand to ask if one of the rooms could be on the ground floor due to my daughter having mobility issues. I received a reply saying that they would try their best but could not guarantee. However, when we arrived we were given two ground floor rooms next to each other, so was extremely grateful for that.
Room: A nice big apartment with living area, kitchenette, dining area, separate bedroom, bathroom with walk-in shower and a big balcony. Cleaners come in every day apart from Friday & Saturday. Air con is very powerful in the bedroom, but couldn’t really feel it in the living area. My daughter was unwell throughout the week, so was grateful for the English tv channels.
Restaurant: Nice size restaurant which was never overly busy. Always lots of options at each meal time. My fussy eating daughter always found something to eat. Each night has a theme. Lunch maybe themed too, but not sure. From 10:30am you can order snacks from the restaurant, which was burgers, hotdogs, chips, nuggets, sandwiches etc. This service finishes 30 minutes before lunch and restarts 30 minutes after lunch up until 6:30pm. The burger was lovely.
Pool: The main pool is a nice size with walk-in steps, which made getting in easier. There is also a very shallow pool with some lounger beds in. That was nice to have a paddle without getting in completely. We were always able to get sun beds each day. As we wanted four together I put our towels down on the way to breakfast at about 9am, but there was always sun beds stacked up to get throughout the day.
Bars: The pool bar opens at 10:30am serving all drinks and ice creams. Staff were always friendly and courteous.
The evening bar is where the entertainment happens. It was busy but you never had to wait long for drinks, the staff always work really hard.
We never used the paid bar by reception so cannot comment.
Entertainment: The girls work really hard trying to get people involved in the games. The week we were there, one of the team left unexpectedly just as we arrived, so that left just two of them working day and night. Their speaker that they use went missing also, so I think they had a very challenging week when we were there but carried on regardless. They did have a speaker by the time we left though. We aren’t ones to get involved in the games but appreciated what they did.
Grounds: The hotel is lovely and clean. Near reception is a garden area with lots of quiet spots to sit. There is also a hot tub there, we didn’t use it, but did see others use it. There was always staff cleaning all areas or watering the very many plants.
Location: A great location with shops and bars at the end of the road. From there turn left cross over the road and go through the shopping area you come to the beach and promenade. A walk along the promenade will take you past lots more shops and bars.
The week we were there, we had a couple of days where it was overcast and the wind was quite strong. It got to the point where I was too cold to sit out by the pool. It would have been nice to have an indoor bar area to go sit in that was not the restaurant, but that was the only negative I could find about the hotel."
