"We stayed for four nights to celebrate my wife’s birthday and overall had a brilliant experience.
Ahead of our arrival, I emailed the hotel to mention the occasion, and they kindly arranged a bottle of Prosecco in our room on the second night – a really thoughtful touch that made the trip feel special.
The room was comfortable and well-presented. We booked all-inclusive and were very happy with the food overall. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and we particularly liked the lunch options – especially being able to choose a served dining experience rather than another buffet. Having two lunch venues added flexibility, and the quality was consistently good. Evening meals were enjoyable, and the service in the pool bar restaurant was excellent – attentive, friendly, and a real highlight.
The location of the hotel is also great and added to the overall experience.
The pool area is generally a really nice space, with some excellent day beds that are genuinely comfortable. However, the standard sun loungers around the pool are not particularly comfortable, so unless you manage to secure one of the better day beds, it can be a bit hit and miss. There are also additional day beds in a separate AstroTurf area, but these are positioned as a paid upgrade (around €34) with included champagne or Prosecco. The strange part is that these were often unused, yet even as all-inclusive guests – who have already paid for drinks – you’re still expected to pay extra to use them. It just adds to a slightly confusing sense that the hotel isn’t fully aligned in what its all-inclusive offer is meant to be, particularly as it caters for multiple board types (bed & breakfast, half board, and all-inclusive).
However, the reason for highlighting this in the review is the very strange and disappointing check-out policy for all-inclusive guests.
At 12:00 on departure day, our wristbands were cut off immediately at check-out, meaning we had no access to food or drinks whatsoever, despite having paid for an all-inclusive stay. Our transfer wasn’t until 16:00, so we were left in a position where we either had to pay extra or go without.
The reception experience at this point also felt quite cold. If we hadn’t actively complained and spoken to the guest services manager, that would simply have been our final impression – wristbands cut off and effectively fend for yourself until departure. Not everyone feels comfortable challenging these situations, and you shouldn’t have to push back to receive a reasonable level of service.
We booked through Jet2, and there was absolutely no information provided at booking to explain that all-inclusive ends abruptly at midday on departure day. This really needs to be made clear to guests in advance, because it’s not standard practice.
We have stayed in many all-inclusive hotels over the years, and this has never happened before. In most places, you can continue to use facilities (including drinks) until you leave, or at least there is some flexibility. Cutting everything off at 12:00 – especially when guests may have arrived late on day one – just feels like a bizarre and unnecessarily strict rule.
To be fair, when we raised this with staff, they gave us a lunch voucher and one drink, which we appreciated. But it didn’t fully resolve the issue, and the last few hours of the holiday felt awkward and slightly frustrating.
It’s also worth saying that this kind of policy has a disproportionate impact on the overall experience. You naturally remember the beginning and the end of a trip most clearly, and while the stay itself was excellent, the departure experience is the final impression guests leave with – which makes it all the more important to get right.
This policy really needs reviewing, or at the very least clearly communicated in advance so guests can make an informed decision about whether all-inclusive represents good value for their stay.
That said, aside from this issue, we had a fantastic time. Great food, lovely service, and thoughtful touches made it a memorable birthday trip.
Just go in with your eyes open about departure day."
