"We spent 4 nights at the hotel in early January with our 2 young kids (1 and 4).
The initial check-in was a little frustrating. When we arrived there were 5 or 6 groups in front of us, but only 2 staff on reception. It took more than 40 minutes to check in which wasn't ideal after travelling for 9 hours with the kids. Think we maybe got unlucky arriving at a busy time.
Room was pleasant and modern. Nice and spacious and plenty of space for the 4 of us and our double pram. So no complaints at all there. We were overlooking Av. De Tenerife which was a little noisy at night but not to the extent that it kept any of us awake (we were in bed for around 10pm). Cleaners did a good job of the room. The little tent they provide for the kids is great too. We got the kids showered at night and let them play while we both got ready.
We use a double buggy and have found at other hotels its been a struggle to get the lift at busy times as there was always someone already in the lift and therefore no room for our pram. Never had that issue here, plenty of lifts for the size of building.
Food wise we were happy with what was available. The selection was maybe a little smaller than we've seen at other buffets, however they change it every night rather than giving you the same stuff day after day which was nice. In terms of taste no complaints at all, very tasty. There was something for the kids every night, even if it was just pizza. Wasn't overly impressed with the dessert selection but i'm not a big dessent fan anyway. Annoyingly there was no apple juice available in the restaurant while we were there, not sure if we were unlucky or this is the norm. Small issue but a big deal for our apple juice daft 4 year old! When we checked in we had to say what time we'd be going for breakfast and dinner which I wasn't keen on; anyone with kids knows it can be hard to plan. However we ended up going at different times every night and got tables no problem.
I thought the kids club was a little basic. We sent our 4 year old on the first day but she only lasted half an hour. It appeared they were just colouring. Kids disco at night was better, plenty of kids up dancing and both our kids really enjoyed that. On our last night it was raining so we were inside at the bar. There was a saxophonist playing who was brilliant and more than happy to interact with the kids who were up dancing (and causing trouble). If thats the standard of entertainment every night then you will not be disappointed!
In terms of facilities at the hotel, again we were fairly happy with the offering. Handy little shop, arcade area for the kids etc. The snack bar was very handy too, especially with kids who get hungry whenever they want. Food was pretty standard but did the job!
I liked that they have beer and wine on self service meaning no need to queue at the bar. That being said even when we did want something from the bar there was rarely any kind of queue.
The pool was nice enough, and we never had any problem getting sun loungers (keep in mind it was early January with mixed weather though). We spent most of our time at the little kids splash park which both our kids loved. They spent hours running around in there. From a kids perspective it was brilliant, looking at it as an adult though it was a little dated looking, certainly not as vibrant as the photos make it look. Could do with a light refresh but as I said, the kids loved it regardless. Theres a small playpark too which we spent some time in and the kids liked.
All staff we encountered were helpful and pleasant from the cleaners to the wait staff to the lifeguards.
On our last day we paid 10 euros to extend our check-out time by an hour. This was a godsend as it allowed us to nap our 1 year old before the long journey home. Very grateful that they offer this!
In terms of location I can only really comment on the beach. We were only there for 4 days so never really ventured anywhere. The beach was about a 20 minute walk which was no problem with the kids in a buggy (probably only 15 minutes if no kids). Really nice bit of beach too, soft sand and a gentle gradient into the water, perfect for kids. Showers to clean all the sand off before leaving as well.
We would definitely return here in future. Hotel certainly not prefect but we felt it had a nice balance of being good for both adults and kids rather than being too focused on one. It was also far cheaper than some other comparable hotels in the Canary Islands!"
