"We've just got back from our holiday and I would absolutely go back to this hotel again! I was sceptical after reading sone reviews before so we went (as a group of 7 friends for my 40th) with low expectations but knowing that the company and a bit of break would make the holiday great even if the hotel/food/weather wasn't great.
We were so happy with the whole experience! I'm very well travelled and have stayed in every kind of accommodation from hostels to 5*, I would come here again with friends or my family
Location:
Location was brilliant, a short taxi ride from the airport (about 18 euros and 15 minutes)
The hotel is right by the beach so we walked along the beach and into the town. It was a lovely walk, not loads open due to the time of year but enough to explore.
There is a mini shopping mall next to the hotel which was great for clothes, essentials, electricals etc.
Food:
I saw some reviews saying there wasn't much choice but there was almost TOO much choice! Breakfast starts at 8, the coffee from the machine was up there with the best coffee i've had. There was every type of pastry you can imagine, fresh omelettes perfect fried eggs cooked fresh, meat and cheese, bread, cereal, porridge, bacon, sausage, beans, do much fruit and salad, even pate.
The snack bar did the job, nothing wow but was nice to have. Bread, pastries, meat, cheese, olives etc. There was also freshly cooked paella and sangria one of the days which was wonderful. Lunch and dinner were amazing, so much fresh meat and salad, sauces, pasta, fruit, desserts, I could go on but there was something for everyone.
Drinks were great, the usual expensive spirits and beers were on the all inclusive which surprised us. The cocktails are pre-mixed slush ones but they were tasty.
Hotel in general
The hotel feels very grand when you first walk in, it really is beautiful.
The staff are fab and helpful, Roberto on reception was so funny and really makes you feel special. The hotel was clean, beds done every day, pool are and bars are very clean. The staff helped us with other restaurant reservations and taxis. Entertainment was fun! We especially enjoyed the live music and karaoke - we were definitely the party crew and hope some of the older guests didn't get too offended by our loudness. Rooms were stuffy due to no air con in 'wintery' months but we managed. Basic but clean rooms and
We are a bunch of married women in our late 30s/early 40s. We had a wild holiday full of so much drink, food and laughs. The other guests were mainly older, couples or families - it really is for everyone
Things to do outside of the hotel
Other than the shopping mall and the beach we also visit the hotels sister hotel with a spa as one morning the weather was a bit too windy. The hotel is the Sheraton and was a 10 minute walk. We loved it! It was 35 euros to use the facilities, it had a lovely pool and lots of sauna/steam room areas, hot tub and terrace. Worth the money to have a lovely relax. We didn't realise treatments had to be booked 3 days in advance sadly so we couldn't have anything other than the spa access but it was great.
We also went out one evening to Algo Mas restaurant which was a very short taxi ride (under 5 euros) the atmosphere, décor and food were 10/10
Weather
The weather wasn't perfect when we went due to windy storms but it was better than predicted! We sat out in the sun a lot, we all got a tan, when the wind got too much we went into the poolside bar then came back out. Mid march is always a bit hit and miss but we expected to be indoors a lot of the time, we were not.
Thanks for a great stay, I will be back"
