"Firstly, this is quite an in depth review and a fair one of what we saw, experienced and felt.
Let’s start with the negatives of which there are many.
FOOD:
The food is awful.
When I say awful, I mean to the point where I could only eat the soup with some bread.
Breakfast items are dreadful. The bacon, sausages and beans are very poor quality as is most of the rest of the food.
Some items were lukewarm, others were too hot ( the soup) to the point of scalding.
The salad bar was the same everyday, bland, boring and unexciting.
The meat dishes ( my partner at least tried some) were dismal, same meats, different sauces.
Some breakfast items such as pancakes, even scrambled egg can you believe, are packed up and ready to be re used again the next morning. Hence rubbery pancakes and solid scrambled eggs.
The dining hall is depressing.
Dark and dingy and reminiscent of a 70s high school canteen. Awful environment.
Broken air conditioning units awaiting repair for at least one week.
The room is too small for the large number of guests attending. The queue for the hot drinks at breakfast were ridiculous.
Very limited choice of anything really was our experience. We are seasoned AI guests and this hotel is the worst we’ve been to.
Themed nights were a joke.
It was the same meats ( as previously mentioned) in different sauces.
Desserts were the same more or less every single day.
Cakes and pastries were dry and tasteless.
Chair backs were sticky from not being cleaned for goodness knows how long, when we mentioned this to a staff member, she just shrugged her shoulders.
Tables were cleared away fairly efficiently but the noise was awful and this is due to how small the room is.
AMENITIES:
What amenities?
The pool area is so cramped you can just about walk around it. We went for 1 hour and then left. Large numbers of families with children of varying ages ( I know it’s their holiday too) but honestly? No where to relax or sunbathe, just too many children everywhere and no beds due to the dawn brigade throwing their towels on which I know is standard but still, a bed for one day would have been nice.
Music so loud you can’t hear yourself think.
Not a great deal in general for just adults to do? We spent most days away from the hotel to avoid the screaming and shouting and loud music that was apparent on a daily basis. Only one bar, which was inside, dark and depressing like a swimming pool cafe, people in and out with wet feet, no health and safely regarding falls from children charging in and out.
One bar only open at night, massive queues for drinks. One Tv in said bar with Spanish commentary which wasn’t great for the World Cup games, again. We had to leave the hotel to find a sports bar.
Children’s entertainment went on till past 10:30 some nights and beyond, the noise from the karaoke and the music doubled due to the quadrant reverberating the sound everywhere. No relaxing evenings in the room.
Quality of the drinks is poor, gin was awful, beer was just about drinkable.
Everything seems to be the cheapest and poorer quality.
The second pool in the far quadrant which we thought may be quieter, wasn’t. Due to the poor design of the hotel being built around 2 quadrants, any noises reverberate around the area you’re in, cleaning trolleys constantly being wheeled up and down, screaming children- again so no peace or quiet anywhere for just adults unless you’re happy with constant noise and chaos.
No toilet facilities in this area.
You have to walk across to the other building.
WiFi is dreadful. Very poor. Drops off, kicks you out or just never works. We reported this and were dismissed with “ well we will call the company” which they clearly didn’t.
I wasn’t going to mention the cockroaches that we saw one evening, 4 living and 3 dead outside the hotel gate and then inside the entertainment area but feel people need to know what we saw and experienced, otherwise what’s the point of reviewing?
This may not be an issue for some, but may be for others. I’m not sure if they’re a health hazard or just a local issue but I for one was not thrilled when I saw them. Just take note.
Had we have been aware of this family focused hotel, we would not have booked it.
LOCATION:
At last, a positive and the only one.
5 minute walk to Caleta De Fuste
10-15 walk to the harbour/ beach
Watch out for the growing number of e-scooters everywhere and mobility trolleys being used as a get around.
Sea View from the room was pleasant.
CLEANLINESS:
Needs addressing, big time.
Outdoor areas are untidy, not very clean and guests leave cigarette butts on the floor along with other rubbish.
Staff sluicing down the pool area and sunbed areas whilst guests are on their beds. The dirty water and rubbish is then swept out of the gate and left in a big pool of dirty water with all the other rubbish accumulated outside the hotel walls.
Broken floor tiles and wall tiles in many places.
Generally the hotel is tired, dated, run down and in need of a total refurbishment.
Rooms cleaned and towels changed daily, different levels of cleaning happening though so be aware if you do go here.
Only one set of toilets for a large complex with so many guests.
One toilet for disabled guests.
We couldn’t wait to go home.
Arrived home sad and disappointed at this awful experience.
Whilst I have been honest and true about what we saw, felt & experienced, you must read other reviews as it may suit you or you may have a young family. Sadly it was not for us.
I do not recommend this hotel for the reasons given.
We will not be returning. Ever."
