"we have just returned from a week away at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Jet 2 in their overview describe it as an elevated and spread out complex but they do not fully explain the size or the hilliness of the resort. some of the bungalows must be at least a 15 min walk to the dining room a lot of it not on the level.
on the subject of the dining room the food was above 3 star, very good with a themed evening every night, i gained half a stone n a week.
it was a break that both my wife and I needed, a week doing very little.
all the staff were very cheerful and did not laugh at me when I attempted my very limited spanish.
we were lucky in that our bungalow was close to both the dining room and pool bar (open 10.30 'til 18.00).
while we were there i made a few mental notes to perhaps assist you in making your decision.
the hotel is directly under the flight path to the airport and flights begin at 07.30 at an altitude of less than 1,000 ft ( I have the app). the aircon was very welcome and we had 2 units, one in the sitting room and one in the bedroom.
relatively quiet so naturally there was plenty of sunbeds.
as a 3 star it did what it says on the tin, fed watered us and gave a place to sleep.
the map given to you on arrival from reception is very hard to follow and read due to the poor lighting and the lack of signage.
our bungalow was spacious enough but was lacking little touches. the only bin was a tiny affair in the bathroom which I assume is for used sanitary products.
the room is only cleaned every other day so you can imagine how full it got.
the evening entertainment was up at the bigger pool bar and was open after the smaller pool was closed. entertainment was average at best and the venue was soulless and windy. our patio had an open roof with rafters which attracted pigeons with no apparent deterrent, spikey bits on any where were non existent. pigeon poop was inevitable
we went in to town twice just for a change which cost us 3 euro each way as you are not on bus route and the route down looked steepish in places.
when walking back from the upper pool bar to our accomodation the walk was downhill and meant us walking on an unlit and very poorly maintained road. ( a council job I assume)
housekeeping was a bit cursory, make the beds and a quick mop through.
generallly the resort is clean and tidy but just needs some tlc."
