"I'm shocked by some of the reviews I am reading about this hotel - and almost wondering if we went to the same place ?!? We had the BEST time here !
We are a family of four with kids aged 11+15. First and foremost - we asked them if they would go again - and that was a resounding YES, and we totally agree with them.
We went all inclusive and would certainly do that again.
Here is our HONEST opinion of this place.
FOOD. Superb. Honestly couldn't fault it. Was the restaurant busy at times - of course it was! Did we ever have to wait for more than 10 mins to get a table ? No. So, no problem there. It's actually run very efficiently.
Amazing selection of food every mealtime - which varies daily (although they do leave some things the same daily for the more fussy eaters...)
The restaurant is clean, tidy, welcoming. All the food was fresh, and was replaced constantly.
When you arrive you are actually given a sheet telling you when the busiest times are for mealtimes. So, we simply went either side of that with no issue. (Evening meals are served from 6.30pm until 10pm - so there is plenty of time)
I was looking for the "catch" with all inclusive. I couldnt find one. Literally from morning till night you can drink and eat what you want. and we did.....
Beers, spirits (local ones obviously) soft drinks, cocktails, coffees, water - all the time.
Poolside food was pretty much the same every day, but there are burgers, hot dogs, nachos, fruit, popcorn, pizza available constantly. All fresh. Thats IF you can fit any more food in between the breakfast lunch and dinner served in the restaurant. My kids managed to find space....
STAFF. Brilliant. We particularly enjoyed the poolside entertainment. Omar, the games coordinator and his team were amazing! Funny, welcoming, and did an incredible job of keeping kids and adults involved and entertained throughout the day and evening
Water volleyball, water polo, silly kids games like flip your flip-flop onto a table to win a prize lol - that sort of thing.
Top tip - join in !! You really will have a blast.
My two kids (11+15) BOTH joined in with the polo and volleyball alongside the adults playing, and loved the friendly competitiveness between the kids and the adults.
Please don't change this - it was a proper highlight of our stay.
Staff around the hotel were ALWAYS polite and friendly.
CLEANLINESS. Couldn't fault it. Rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels provided. The public areas were cleaned continuosly. Sometimes, the pool area was let down by the thoughtless and irresponsible families thinking they should have a personal butler to clean up after them, but the staff were soon onto it.
There was occasionally a little whiff around the pool. Having travelled a lot, and even live abroad - this is quite normal, and didn't inconvenience us.
Pool area was cleaned every night, and the pool itself was hoovered daily.
POOL
Not the biggest - but plenty of room for everyone. I expected it to be shoulder to shoulder - but it really wasn't.
It was clean and tidy, and there is NO mad rush for the sundbeds !!
Pool opens at 10am, which for us was perfect.
Some of the sunbeds have massive parasols - however due to the position of the pool, you can always find shade (or the sun) if you want it...
THE "CUP" ISSUE. I've read in other reviews about the reusable cups. This was a little strange at first - however we didn't have an issue at all. If you want a drink - take your cup with you, and they will either rinse it out and fill it again, or they will swap it for a new one. It's very easy, and actually a great idea.
Top tip - TRY and use a bit of Spanish !!! A simple "hola", and "gracias" goes a long way, and is so much more polite than pointing or simply refusing to speak THEIR language. You might get your cups cleaned quicker then....
ROOMS. Air conditioned thankfully - which was a blessing. We decided to all share a room. We were told all the family rooms are apparently 2 double beds. This meant the kids had to share.
The way we see it - the rooms are there as a base for sleeping and showering, so this didn't trouble us.
It would have been nice if there was a kettle in the room, and as a family of four, there were only 3 chairs, so sitting on the balcony together was out.
There was a fridge, which again was a blessing.
The large TV was NEVER switched on..... (we have 2 kids....I cannot believe I just typed that...)
The rooms on the whole are quite basic, but perfectly comfortable, and are cleaned daily.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT
This was ok. Nothing incredible, but ok.
The entertainment room is badly designed, with several huge posts in the room which obscures the view to the stage. This means they can't fit as many chairs in there are they should, so quite often it was standing room only.
We never actually saw the bar in there open - which put abit of pressure on the other bar, which could get quite busy at times in the evenings.
Outside you can grab table tennis bats and petanque balls (which we tried) and there is a small play area for the little ones.
LOCAL AREA. The hotel is perfectly placed . Just enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town - but literally a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and main centre. We didn't venture out too much, but there are 100s of local bars and restaurants which looked very busy.
OTHER.
There was an issue with the lifts when we were there, and we agree, 3 lifts do struggle to accomodate everyone. We used the stairs, as we were only on the 2nd floor.
Transfer from the airport is very quick too. We used the private transport option, and were glad we did. So much easier.
ACCESIBILITY
My wife has an issue with her knees. Everything is accesible, including the local area, and is mainly flat.
The only thing missing is some steps into the pool. They only have ladders.
SUMMARY
Are there better hotels out there? Of course there are.
However, would we come HERE again? YES - without a doubt.
I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
On the whole it is a clean, safe, accomodating, friendly, welcoming, entertaining hotel with superb food and great staff."
