"This is, without question, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, it was one problem after another.
We arrived at the hotel expecting to begin our holiday, only to be told we would have to wait four hours for our room. During this time, I ended up with my belongings locked in the luggage room because nobody explained that the lockers required a €2 coin. Later in the holiday, my passport and money also became locked inside the room safe, causing even more unnecessary stress.
The most concerning part of our stay happened one evening when a group of four or five men in the room next door were fighting, shouting, and throwing towels and glass bottles from their balcony. My 11-year-old daughter was absolutely terrified. My friend went to reception to ask for security, but the receptionist simply said he would "have a word" and did absolutely nothing.
As the situation continued and my daughter became increasingly distressed, I went to reception myself and again asked for security. The receptionist responded with complete indifference, saying, "Yeah, I know, we've already had complaints. We'll send security when they get here." I was frightened myself and asked if he would come upstairs with me, but his response and attitude were completely dismissive. His handling of such a serious situation was, in my opinion, unprofessional, unacceptable, and showed a complete lack of concern for the safety of guests.
The staff throughout the hotel were consistently miserable, unwelcoming, and unhelpful. It genuinely felt as though none of them wanted to be there. The only member of staff who seemed friendly and pleasant was the gentleman making pancakes at breakfast.
The hotel claims to be family-friendly, but that certainly wasn't our experience. Children were not allowed to use inflatables in the swimming pool, yet loud music filled with explicit language was blasted around the pool throughout the day. The priorities seemed completely backwards.
The hotel also allows dogs to stay, which may appeal to some guests, but combined with the aggressive behaviour we witnessed and the lack of action from staff, it certainly didn't create a relaxing or safe environment. I wouldn't return here with my family, and I honestly wouldn't choose to return even as an adults-only holiday.
There were also several other disappointments. My friend booked a massage, only to be told on the day that her appointment had never actually been booked. In the spa, guests were required to wear swimming hats to use the jacuzzi and other facilities, which completely took away from what should have been a relaxing experience. Strangely, swimming hats weren't required in the main pool, making the rule seem inconsistent and unnecessary.
To add to my concerns, the door frame in my room looked as though it had previously been kicked in. Whether that was the case or not, it certainly didn't inspire confidence and only added to my feeling that guest safety was not taken seriously.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing and stressful holiday. Rather than feeling relaxed, I spent much of it feeling anxious, frustrated, and unsafe. I genuinely have nothing positive to say about this hotel, apart from the excellent pancake chef. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families looking for a safe and enjoyable holiday."
