"Borderline whether this is a 5* hotel, however, it really was a fantastic 5 nights. I arrived very late at night, despite this the reception staff were incredibly helpful and explained all the details in depth.
Breakfast was excellent. A wide range of choice, whilst im not one for the cold meats and cheeses at 8am, plenty of people were tucking in. There was also a good range of hot options, which were actually hot which is always a bonus. Excellent range of cereals, fruit, breads, pastries etc. It would have been nice to have bowls of fresh yoghurt rather than small sealed pots.
The room was a good size, comfy bed. Black out curtains ensured you got a good night sleep. A complimentary large bottle of still water provided daily was a nice touch. Bathroom was immaculate and it was nice the amenities were refreshed daily. It was also cleaned and made up to a high standard. Good size tv although limited english channels (not an issue).
Although I didnt use it, the gym looked clean with modern equipment. I had a spare couple of hours and the weather wasn't great so they managed to squeeze me in for a massage. A little bit on the pricier side at 100€ for a 60 minute full body relaxation massage. It was a little noisy due to building works (this was the only place you really noticed the building work), however, they tried their best to contact the building site to get them to stop the drilling.
I was very excited about the rooftop pool, as well as the indoor pool. Unfortunately these were the only two areas that let this hotel down. Starting with indoor; indoor pool was very clean, however, the jacuzzi was not warm, let alone hot. There were also a lack of comfy furniture to lie on by the indoor pool. In terms of the rooftop bar/pool; good choice of drinks at the bar and prices were very reasonable for a hotel bar. Like the indoor pool whilst they had large bean bag beds to lie on, these weren't great to sit/lie on to read a book. It was either sit up fully or lie down fully. The pool was mostly clean, although given a rooftop pool it had quite a few bugs and things - it would have been nice for them to have maintained better.
Did not use the main hotel restaurant or bar so unable to comment.
Do not let the final negatives put you off going to this hotel. The location is great and it only takes a few minutes to get Ubers to take you into the city centre (10 minute journey, 20 at peak times such at 5.30-6.30) or down to the waterfront."
