"Location a bit out of the way, but not too bad, atmosphere was great. Rooms could have done with the floor being washed more often and a bit dusty over bed sheets should have been changed because they had marks overall not too bad, but needs improvement. Value for money was great noise level not bad when you shut the door, you didn’t hear anything. Service could have said at the start to always read the board for any changes like to the bus to and from hotel, could have told me that you were able to book trips with them as I had to find out this myself, and I am a solo traveler, so it was difficult for me to know these things if I had been told in the first place, I would’ve booked some trips when I got there. My last day in Madeira was the best day of my entire holiday went up to the waterfalls got there and said I don’t think I can do this as it was quite steep and very high steps to walk up. I am 62 and can’t manage to push myself up these big steps. People should be warned about this walk, But I was saved. By the tour guide, who said I could turn back if I found it too much and he would come with me which I thought was a nice touch. But the best thing was there was two people on the trip on their day off Eva and martim who both work in the hotel Eva and Martim we’re both on their day off and should have been having couple time and enjoying their trip, but instead they took time to help me Eva said you can do this Julie and they took time to help me up the steep steps and pointed out the dangerous branches poking up and told me to be careful. They both were teaching me some Portuguese words as I only know very few but the ones I did know made them laugh.Martim was teaching me how to count to 10 in Portuguese and testing me to see if I remembered I could remember some, but not all we had a great laugh and nothing was too much trouble for them. I asked if I was putting them out because I am slow. They said not at all. We are happy to help which made me cry, they both kept saying, Julie you’ve got this and guess what I did it, but I couldn’t have done it without their help. They were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to help me they are an amazing couple and I think they should be given some sort of recognition even if it’s a free trip or a bottle of champagne or even a free meal out somewhere. I was just about to board the plane to go back to London and a message popped up from them saying Madeira will miss you and we will miss you. Have a safe trip home you will have a place in our hearts which again made me cry as they went above and beyond we have now become friends and they will forever have a special place in my heart something I could never forget they made my last day the best day ever and I can’t thank them enough for doing that for me. Restaurant staff were OK, but didn’t speak very much to me probably because I’m not Portuguese but all in all the food was good. The service was good. And my last day was the best ever because of Eva and Martim a memory of a day I will always treasure"
