"Our third time in Madeira and the best one, due to the fantastic Ocean Gardens Hotel! Mixing traditional with new, this hotel offers a lovely relaxing & peaceful stay, away from the busy areas of Funchal. The best sites are easily accessible by car. What makes this hotel are the excellent, friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. The restaurant food at both breakfast and dinner is a highlight. Wonderfully fresh, great flavours well thought through. We had half board, which offers us three courses with two choices of each. The quality and menu offer was such that the two different nightly choices for each day were perfect for us. (There is à la carte if you don’t want half board). The pool area was lovely, with views to match. Our room was very comfortable. Great bed, powerful shower and lovely balcony. The crowning glory of this hotel are the staff. Firstly the housekeeping is immaculate throughout the hotel. It’s one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. The restaurant staff are attentive, helpful, friendly and a credit to the hotel. A truly memorable experience. Thank you."
