"We have just returned from a 10 night stay at this hotel.
I had read numerous reviews before booking, even checking short clips on You Tube - they oversold this hotel!!
The hotel is far from grand.
I read that it was tired. Exhausted would be more realistic.
Extremely dated, it is in need of a complete refurbishment.
The rooms are large and have everything you need - however I could not enjoy the space as it appeared and felt unclean and drab.
Fabric covered furniture. Too many scatter cushions, rugs, a mouldy washing machine.
This would have been grand in the 70’s but not by today’s standards and possibly hasn’t been updated since.
Housekeeping minimal.
Bird faeces on the balcony floor, furniture and patio doors ( not fresh was there all week and never cleaned)
The whole hotel was tired.
The pool is missing tiles.
The poolside I never saw cleaned once and looked grubby. Dirty marks remained day on day.
The furniture cheap and discoloured.
Entertainment if any was poor in the hotel bar. No outside seating but lots of unused outside space you have no access to.
The food. Your usual all inclusive buffet.
This was cold and had cheap cuts of meat.
I liked that there is a selection of restaurants you could choose to dine at (off site) these were accessed by the hotels taxi / bus service free of charge.
The bus had no air con so was stifling.
The receptionist did not explain this came around every 30 minutes or so to transfer so explaining we had a reservation and could we organise transport were told one word. WAIT.
No further explanation!
The restaurants were a nice change from the buffet - a different environment however don’t get too excited as the food in the most part was poor too.
We tried 8 /9 restaurants.
None of us fancied the sushi.
The Mexican was good - have given this its own review.
The Indian - although not to my taste we enjoyed.
The Italian La Toscana was by far the best and deserves its own review. Delicious fresh pasta dishes.
The rest - terrible.
The tapas was cold sandwiches- when asking about the ‘hot’ food on the menu we were told the chef didn’t know!
The grill house - pink chicken which we did not eat. They offered us another platter but we declined as by this point had exhausted our fly batting patience!
Location: a short walk to a supermarket, the beach, the old town (this was pretty), the Strip - full of young people, drinking and out to shock with outrageous t-shirts for sale everywhere.
Our children went for a walk down the strip one evening and said they felt vulnerable- needing to cover their drinks, men everywhere watching them, being asked if they wanted drugs.
We enjoyed the sunshine and took trips out most days.
If you want a lounger by the pool you need to be at the door when it is opened at 9am. Not enough for all the guests so first come first serve.
Visited the designer outlet and found some bargains.
A trip on the two tourist trains gave some history and enabled us to see the area.
Tuk Tuks €10 and great fun to get around when not wanting to walk up hill or in the hot sun.
Uber and taxis very reasonable.
We made the most of our time away and enjoyed the sunshine.
Unfortunately our experience was not of beauty, but of littered streets, graffiti covered walls, drinking and s*x.
A local driver explained that after restrictions were put on Ibiza and Benidorm by Spain this was now the party place for silly young kids!!"
