"This was our first time staying at Pickalbatros Aqua Fun Club.
We went for a week as a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children age 8,10 and 12 to celebrate my sons 10th birthday.
On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady called Yasmine. This is the first hotel where EVERYTHING was explained in detail. She gave us a tour of the hotel and showed us where everything was and the timings of all the food places. This is the first hotel we have stayed at that the staff really put all the effort in making sure we knew everything about the hotel. I was even introduced to the lady who was communicating with me through WhatsApp prior to my holiday. I was also given Yasmine’s number to contact her if I had any issues and to also arrange a birthday cake for my son that was gifted by the hotel.
The hotel has the most amazing views of the Atlas Mountains 🏔️
Our room was beautifully decorated for my sons birthday before we entered. We had a family room which was clean and tidy and it was stocked daily with water and toiletries. It felt like a 2 bedroom apartment (minus kitchen)
There are 2 main restaurants, one has traditional food and the other has a huge variety of different food (pasta/pizza/sandwich/hotdogs loads more) the best part is they are connected so you can go to both at the same time. There is a BBQ outside the restaurant every afternoon and evening of different type of meat/fish each day. There is also another smaller food place called Tea time which is open between lunch and dinner. They do food like pizza, chips, pancakes and loads of other snacks. At the main building near reception there are loads of different pastries and sandwiches which is open all day until early evening. They is also a bar nearby reception which serves hot and cold drinks.
The staff at this hotel have been soo welcoming, we never had an issue with no one. The entertainment team were all nice and friendly especially Sara and not pushy at all.
There were loads of different pools and slides to choose from. The children loved kayaking most days. There is also a indoor heated pool too which was a bonus for us as we came towards the end of a storm. Only thing I have to criticise is there were a few closed pool bars so you had to go find one that was open if you wanted a drink.
We did a few excursions. The Altas mountain hike with lunch by the riverside was really good. You definitely need trainers and a back pack so you are hands free. We stopped to do some pottery before the hike which was also nice for the children. We did camel riding and dinner at the desert towards the end of our stay. The camel riding you need a mask because the smell is unbearable haha the dinner at the desert was beautiful and something I would definitely do again. You have to carry cash EVERYWHERE on these excursions as no one took card.
We got some lovely family photos done by Ibrahim who works at the hotel. Him and his sister were soo friendly and really good with the children. The prices for the pictures were very cheap infact the cheapest I have paid anywhere.
There is a small shop at the back of the hotel that sells snacks and pool items. Prices were very reasonable for hotel shop prices. There is also a ATM at the main building.
Overall we had the best time that we even enquired to see if we can extend our stay but unfortunately they were fully booked (no surprise)
Hopefully one day we would love to come back and have a longer stay.
