Grand Hotel View

"Overall 5/5. Built in 2023, it still looks and feels brand new. Everything about the hotel seemed high quality. We booked 1/2 board. Great staff everywhere. We only stayed for 3 nights, but we left impressed. We spent 17 days island hopping from Dubrovnik to Split. This was our 5th hotel. We used Nikica for taxi us to and from Supetar ferry. Very reliable, large van, great English speaker and good price for cash. +385 91 502 7877 www.taxi-supertar.com History - The hotel is a large modern concrete and glass block, which seems staggeringly out of place at the edge of the quaint fishing village of Postira. How did they possibly get planning permission? Why would you do it? Well the hotel’s site was previously a sardine canning factory and had been for many years and the look and smell was putting off tourists. So it was agreed that a hotel could be built there if they built a new sardine canning hidden further away. The town would get the tourists, the jobs, no smell etc and the brand new factory, with lots of jobs and would carry on as before. Everyone seems happy about it. It does still look a bit odd, but to have the luxury of a new hotel and the cute harbor with bars, restaurants etc is great. Room 5/5. We stayed in a Premium room. It’s a very spacious open plan bedroom/lounge area, Premium rooms are a corner room with large glass doors to the balcony and further window on the other side. Super king bed with high quality linen. Separate duvets. We slept well. The bed faces outwards towards the sea for maximum sea views. Large TV by the bed. Only small bedside storage spaces and no headboard. Lots of other storage space elsewhere. Fridge, digital safe, kettle for tea/coffee. Bedside power with usb and usbc ports. Sofa, coffee table and a separate swivel chair and a stool. Dressing table with a large mirror. Hairdryer. Iron and board. Very good and easy to control aircon. Long seat at the end of the bed overlooking the window. A second large TV in the lounge area. Very modern and chic everywhere. I did find the numerous light switches somewhat baffling. Bathroom 5/5. Again very spacious. Super large shower area with twin head shower. Quality Ritual shampoo/shower gel and conditioner. Lovely tiles. Large sink, again with Ritual hand soap and body lotion. All very new. We’re not a fan of glass bathroom doors, even when frosted, as they don’t give a lot of privacy. Pool 5/5. There are 3. One is a half indoor/outdoor type. There’s a children’s pool and then the large main infinity pool with fab sea views. Everywhere looked new with high quality tiles. The main pool was quiet enough for a good swim. Plenty of quality sun loungers. We did notice the occasional lounger reserved with towels, yet unused all day, but nowhere near as bad as some hotels. Being September, there were not too many children, might be different peak season. Pool temperature was nice. Pool towels provided by the hotel. There was an aqua aerobic session each morning. Beach 5/5. There are a number of small beach areas with fine pebbles. You can manage without beach shoes, but we used them. It looked a bit steep getting into and out of the water, but everyone seemed ok with it and I managed it easily. The sea is lovely. There are designated swimming areas. You can hire quality sun loungers for €10 pp and €5 for a large sunshade. I just put my towel on the fine stones and it was great for a few hours. There is a new promenade in both directions if you fancy a stroll or even a run. The harbor is a few minutes walk to the right along the promenade. Breakfast 5/5. Plenty of seating inside or outside with a sea view. Lot and lots of food choices. All good quality. Great service everywhere. I was a bit surprised that they wanted me to pay for a decaf coffee as an extra. That’s a first for me. Still a good breakfast. Dinner 5/5. For the price, dinner is great value. Again lots of food choices. Too many to detail. The occasional queue of a few people, but this is normal for a buffet meal. We enjoyed the buffet. Location 5/5. The sun sets in front of the hotel each evening. The village of Postira is few minutes walk away. There are plenty of restaurants, a good sized supermarket, a few shops and a few ATMs. We tended to have dinner at the hotel and then strolled into the harbor for a stroll and a glass of wine. All very pleasant. We had a great time here. Everywhere looks immaculate. Highly recommended."

"Had a lovely and relaxing vacation with my girlfriend. Although it was high season and there were a few more children than we would normally prefer, we still enjoyed our stay very much. Most of the staff were very kind, friendly, and accommodating. We had a great overall experience and would definitely recommend this hotel!"

"I travel extensively and stay in hotels around the world, and I can honestly say I haven’t experienced such a poor level of restaurant service in a long time. Grand Hotel View, August 12, 2026 — the hotel, rooms, and amenities deserve every praise, the location is stunning. But the restaurant completely wrecked the overall experience of our stay. We waited an hour and a half for lunch (14:10–15:40) — for comparison, that’s the kind of wait you’d expect for a full fine-dining tasting menu, not for breaded chicken and a salad. The drink we ordered never showed up, until I personally went to the bar to look for it, as if we’d simply been forgotten. When the food finally arrived, the caprese salad came with wilted arugula instead of basil (photo attached — it speaks for itself). The table hadn’t been cleaned despite asking the waiters three times, and cutlery — nothing. The last straw: when my wife asked for cutlery, the waitress curtly replied that she “wasn’t a psychiatrist.” That kind of tone toward a guest is simply unacceptable in any hospitality establishment, let alone a hotel of this category. The shift supervisor apologized and removed the item from the bill, which was the only bright spot in the whole ordeal. But the restaurant manager was completely unavailable, and we weren’t the only ones — similar complaints were heard from other tables (long waits, dirty tables, even a fly in someone’s food). This is no longer just a “bad day” — it’s a systemic problem in the organization and service culture. The hotel has huge potential and a beautiful setting, but the restaurant is actively sabotaging it. I hope management takes this seriously, because right now the level of service is unworthy of a hotel in this category."
