Calanica Resort

"The resort is located on a cliff ca. 20 minutes walk to Cefalu (not far at all). You are sleeping in a little cottage house and they have by far the best views you can imagine. It’s so calm and relaxing. The hotel restaurant had probably the best food we tried on this Sicily trip and you could enjoy beautiful sunset during the dinner. A bit pricey, but for sure good value for money. The rooms are a little bit small (especially bathroom) for 3 adults and a child, but we stayed only 3 nights so it was ok. The swimming pool needs a bit maintenance, as it is very dated, would be really top experience if this could be maintained better."

"We had a wonderful week's holiday at Calanica. I loved that the accommodation was a little different and not a huge hotel complex. It was small, cozy and intimate, yet still within a reasonable distance of the town of Cefalù. Our bungalow had beautiful view to the sea and the surrounding landscape. The peaceful atmosphere was perfect for relaxing. The only sound we could hear in the nighttime was the soothing noise of the waves. Everything was spotlessly clean throughout our stay, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The staff made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. Everyone was friendly and polite, and communication was excellent throughout our stay. The breakfast was generous and offered a great variety of options. In my opinion, the hotel is particularly well suited for adults. It's worth noting that the property is built on a fairly steep hillside, so there are quite a lot of stairs. A railway line runs close to the accommodation, but there are no trains operating during the night so it didn't disturb our sleep at all. We usually walked to Cefalù's Old Town, although there is also a bus service with rather infrequent departures. There is a grocery store nearby as well. The hotel's private beach is pebbly, so I would recommend bringing water shoes. We left with many warm memories—thank you for a wonderful stay!"

"We have spent an idyllic week at this beautiful, and unique resort. The staff are,without exception, friendly and helpful.The bungalows are lovely, with fantastic views from all angles. Towels are routinely changed daily . There is an extensive menu from which we have enjoyed different and delicious meals every night. The walk into the old town by way of the delightful promenade is actually 3kms ,and takes 40 to 45 minutes ( in hot weather!). Do not risk the more direct route on the very busy road. Trains to San Stefano and Palermo are frequent,and pretty cheap.The bus to Castelbuono is likewise cheap,but get to the station early as times can be erratic."
