"Our stay at Gallura Beach Village was a mixed experience, with both positive aspects and areas that could certainly be improved.
The first impression of our room was unfortunately quite disappointing. There was a strong musty smell when we arrived, which immediately gave the feeling that the room had not been aired properly for some time. However, the room itself was very spacious, housekeeping did an excellent job every morning, towels were changed frequently, and the bed was always neatly made.
Overall, the resort seems to be showing signs of age and decline. It is clear that maintaining such a large property comes with significant costs, but there are several areas that could be improved with relatively simple attention to detail. The outdoor spaces would benefit from more regular maintenance and pruning. In particular, rooms from the 300 block onwards , potentially , could have a fantastic sea view, but in reality many overlook overgrown bushes rather than the sea.
Another recurring issue is the presence of wild boars. Visitors often feed them, which encourages them to approach the resort. As a result, unexpected encounters with wild boars emerging from the bushes and wandering close to the rooms are quite common.
The buffet is very much in the style of a large holiday chain resort. The variety can be somewhat limited and repetitive, although there are usually some fresh food options available. The quality is acceptable, but the dining experience could certainly be improved. One aspect that definitely needs improvement is the coffee served at breakfast. The coffee dispensers produced drinks that were, unfortunately, consistently poor in quality and often unpleasant to drink. Considering how important a good coffee is to many guests, especially in Italy, this is an area where a relatively small investment could make a significant difference to the overall guest experience. Replacing the current machines with better-quality alternatives would be highly appreciated and would noticeably improve the breakfast offering.( Vito’s coffees at bar by the pool, saved the holiday!)
One service that deserves special recognition is the baby feeding room (Biberoneria). Parents with babies can prepare specific meals, warm milk, and access facilities designed for infant feeding. This service is a solid 10 out of 10, as it allows families to independently provide warm meals and care for their children at any time of the day.
The staff are generally polite and helpful, from the housekeeping team to the reception staff. However, the true highlight of the resort is undoubtedly the Hero Camp team.” Beppe,Asia, Leonardo, Alice, Alessia, Giulia,Giorgia, Alessandro, Matteo, Lucia, Davide. Sorry if I am missing anyone “
A special thank you goes to them! , who made our stay significantly more enjoyable. Asia deserves a special mention for her kindness, professionalism, and contagious enthusiasm. The entire team is always available, engaging, and attentive to both children and adults, and Beppe, whose shows and entertainment activities help create a warm, fun, and welcoming atmosphere for the whole family.
Children are extremely well looked after, constantly engaged with games, beach activities, sports, and entertainment. Parents can genuinely relax knowing their children are safe, supervised, and having fun. There are also tennis courts available, and the Hero Camp team actively encourages both children and adults to participate in sports and social activities.
The swimming pool is pleasant and well maintained. However, during our stay there were several windy days and, because the pool area is quite exposed, it can become uncomfortable when the wind picks up.
The sea is undoubtedly beautiful and one of the strongest points of the resort. A shuttle service takes guests to within approximately 500 metres of the beach, which can only be reached on foot as it is located within a protected natural area. For guests staying on half-board or full-board packages, beach umbrellas and sun loungers are included.
One reviewer previously described the resort as having a “summer camp meets Dirty Dancing” atmosphere, and after our stay, we completely understood what they meant—in the best possible way. There is definitely a relaxed, community-style vibe throughout the resort. Guests naturally interact with one another, and it is surprisingly easy to make new friends. Much of this is thanks to the entertainment team, who do an excellent job of encouraging participation and social interaction without ever being intrusive or pushy.
The Bar in the pool is runned by “Vito” very kind and professional that makes very nice apéritif’s and cocktails
Interestingly, the limited Wi-Fi coverage turned out to be a positive aspect in some ways. It encourages guests to disconnect from their phones, spend more time outdoors, engage with other families, and fully enjoy the holiday experience. In a world where everyone is constantly connected, this felt like a refreshing change.
The resort is located about 15–20 minutes from Santa Teresa di Gallura and is surrounded by beautiful, unspoilt nature. However, it is also quite isolated, so having a car is highly recommended if you wish to explore the area or access shops and services.
Overall, Gallura Beach Village can offer a pleasant holiday, especially during the low season. While the resort would benefit from investment and more consistent maintenance in certain areas, the beautiful natural setting, excellent childcare facilities, and above all the outstanding Hero Camp team played a huge role in making our stay enjoyable and memorable. If you are looking for luxury, this may not be the right choice. If, however, you value nature, a family-friendly atmosphere, opportunities to meet people, and a place where children can truly enjoy themselves, you may find yourself pleasantly surprised."
