Fortyfive Squared Hotel

"Quite expensive given the size and quality. No air con (not turned on outside of the summer months!) when brought to attention of reception, I was dismissed and told nothing they would do. The room staff were very pleasant but had their hands tied by management."

"We booked this hotel as it is close to the train station & in a good area for restaurants, though somewhat of a stride away from the main highlights of Rome. However, being very close to the station gave us good access to the metro & tram system. Fortyfive-Squared is a very new hotel & at the time of writing this has only been open a month. To this end a number of rooms are still under construction though this has not affected our stay in any way. Our room is 'Superior' and is quite spacious with a jacuzzi tub in the main bedroom & spacious separate shower room with plenty of toiletries. The bed is comfortable & nightime very quiet. As it is new everything looks lovely & fresh though there have been a few teething problems which I will quickly mention were dealt with extremely efficiently. The lower floor of the hotel houses a 10m (approx) swimming pool & a fitness room, though at this time the fitness room is not open for use. Breakfast is ok, but I feel has room for improvement. The juices available are little more than a cordial & after 1 taste left the remaining content. For the standard I feel that the hotel is striving to achieve, a fresh juice should be expected. The usual hot options are served together with continental style options, filter coffee & fruit. Barista coffee is also available though having been in Italy some time now don't rate the coffee blend they are using. Breakfast staff are not as attentive as should be expected & have to be chased down for any kind of communication. Reception is very efficient & welcoming. I think in another month when all facilities are up & running (including a courtyard restaurant) this hotel will be a fab place to stay as is already showing great potential."

"New kid on the block but worthy. Great location a street back from the main station. Comfy clean rooms and good facilities. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable for great local places to eat and how to best get about Rome. Would definitely go back"
