Hotel Apogia Lloyd Rome

"DO NOT STAY HERE AVOID!!! I just stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend for 7 nights. As soon as we walked into the room we were shocked and disgusted and completely underwhelmed. The rooms look nothing like the photos , completely misleading! Carpets are stained, room really old and shabby I was horrified and they moved our room to one with a balcony . This room was just as bad, the shower base door was falling off and the shower door do not shut, the bathroom floor was wet my boyfriend fell out the shower as the door wouldn’t close one day and hurt his back, we complained about the room first day were told all rooms were identical by the lady at reception, but she moved us to one with a balcony and we made do with it. Throughout the stay, the room just had a dirty feel about it , I felt uncomfortable using the shower and bathroom, the hotel lacks facilities . No kettle, no water, no fridge in the room basic things you would expect, I complained to the lady at reception about the fridge and she just laughed . My boyfriend told the other man about it at reception who said he would sort something out but never did, it was hot and we couldn’t chill out drinks which made it quite painful. The air conditioning did not work at all and we went end of May in 31 degree weather! Again we complained about this to the staff who just did nothing about it; completely ignored us everytime we complained about something, on day 4 we had left the clea my room sign out side the door and our room was not cleaned , my boyfriend went down to reception again we explained about all the issues she then moved us only on day 4 to a bigger room with four beds. This room was not much better and in fact maybe even worse than the first room . The hot water did not work ; you would need to leave it to run for about 15 minutes , again dirty feel to the room and dark no proper lightening . The hotel itself is very basic, no facilities, no nice outdoor seating; no proper bar . One day we came back at 11 at night and asked for a bottle of water and they said they had ran out! And had none the breakfast was absolutely disgusting, would not even feed it to my dog. Eggs and bacon cold, coffee machine did not work, basic selection of foods we did not even bother after the first day. We stayed out mostly everyday as we did not fee comfortable here at all, holidays are meant to be relaxing but staying here made us just feel stressed out and not happy. It’s far away from most things, very dated in need of renovation. Should not be classed as a 3 star . I would not even rate it a 1 star . When we complained to the receptionist before check out again, she tried to lie and say we did not report the issues when we came to her about 4 different times ! Absolute joke we never settled as we had to be moved twice during our stay, but even despite this every single room had problems and how can she say we did not report issues when she literally moved us from room to room’ DO NOT STAY HERE ‘"

"Definitely not a 3 star hotel. Very run down and dirty in bedroom and corridors. Thankfully we were out most of the day and only used as a base. Came back late one evening to find our door had not been closed after cleaning. Thankfully nothing had been taken. Breakfast was fair but they often ran out of items during busy periods including cutlery and plates. Although location had close access to metro and bus stops we wouldn’t stay here again and would not recommend"

"To be honest this hotel needs a huge revamp. The girl at reception was absolutely excellent but the hotel is very run down wallpaper coming off walls, paint chipping off walls, the room we got was very small ,hardly room to stand in shower, we went down and asked for upgrade and the girl got us upgraded the next day it was better than first room but still not great . The staff in the breakfast room were not very efficient ,they waited till all the bacon was gone before ordering more as a result you would have toast and no bacon, same with the cutlery you would have your food and no cutlery so you wait again for them to go in and wash them to bring out more, very bad service. There is no bar/ lounge in hotel It's also a 40 min walk into main landmarks ,so quite a bit far away. The best thing about the hotel were the reception staff ,that's all I can say it is a very outdated hotel"
