"We stayed four nights in a quadruple room overlooking Lake Maggiore and had a wonderful experience from start to checkout.
We booked directly through the hotel’s official website, which guaranteed the best available rate. The reservation office communicated promptly and professionally throughout the entire process, giving us confidence even before arrival. Elena and Novella deserve a special mention for their excellent assistance and warm communication.
The hotel’s location is exceptional. Directly in front of the property is the Stresa Ferry Terminal, where ferries depart for the beautiful Borromean Islands — Isola Bella, Isola dei Pescatori, and Isola Madre — as well as other destinations around the lake, including Locarno on the Swiss side of the lake. The airport shuttle stop for Milan Malpensa Airport is also conveniently located right in front of the hotel (Church stop). We arrived by train, and the Stresa Railway Station was only a pleasant 10–15 minute walk away.
Check-in took just a few minutes and was handled efficiently and warmly. The reception staff were friendly, professional, and always eager to help guests get around and make the most of their stay.
Our room looked exactly as presented on the hotel’s website. It had been recently renovated while still preserving touches of classic décor that perfectly matched the elegant Italian atmosphere of Stresa. The historic center, with its restaurants and cafés, was located just behind the hotel. Grocery stores such as Carrefour and Conad were also within a very short walking distance. Despite being close to one of the town’s busier streets, the room remained remarkably quiet, and we enjoyed excellent sleep quality throughout our stay.
The buffet breakfasts were very good, offering a wide selection of food along with attentive service. However, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the dining experience, as we had chosen the half-board option.
A special mention goes to Raffa Carmello, whose refined manners, professionalism, and wonderful sense of humor added greatly to the warm hospitality and outstanding service at the hotel’s “Milan Au Lac” restaurant. The restaurant staff - especially Natalya - consistently made guests feel welcome and took great pleasure in explaining the delicious dishes featured in the chef’s three-course evening menu.
The absence of a gym and pools in the Hotel may be considered drawbacks. However, these did not overshadow the hotel’s main strengths and the general quality of our experience.
Overall, we found this hotel to be a true hidden gem in Stresa. Considering the excellent price-to-quality ratio, along with the consistently high level of service provided by everyone — from the reservation team and reception staff to the restaurant employees and housekeeping personnel — the hotel deserves our highest recommendation and sincere applause."
