Ostria Hotel

"Flying back from Skiathos in early October I chatted to a couple on the same row of seats. We compared our respective holidays and hotels, theirs a four star, our own a two star. Their experience was not the best, indeed it sounded far from 4 star standard by their comments about cold food, a lack of basic cutlery, poor management, a number of disinterested & unmotivated staff, plus poor maintenance of their room, including an unstable bed. I felt a little sorry that coupled with below average sun of September weather, their first experience of Skiathos had been a disappointment. For 16 days my wife and I had stayed at The Ostria Hotel and Apartments at Bus Stop 16 Aghia Paraskevi, a supposed 2 star rating, but one we have stayed at for many years and one that we and many others regard as 5 star in every single respect as documented over the years in many, many Trip Advisor reviews. The Ostria offers personal service, loved, run and owned by a long standing Skiathos family and it shows. Nothing is too much trouble, the grounds are peaceful, beautiful, manicured and immaculate to the nth degree. Rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean and kept so by a small team of committed, friendly and respectful team of staff who quickly become your friends via a cheery wave as they go about their daily chores, discretely managed by owners Sofia, Mrs Litsa and Mr Makis. The family look after us so well that many a time we are treated like family with home-made soup, cheese pie, yemista, plus fresh figs, grapes, plums, and tomatoes from the beautiful grounds. Before jumping in the Jimny for JSI we confirmed our booking for 2027 with Sofia, same room, same dates. Why on earth would we stay anywhere but the fantastic 5 Star Quality Ostria?"

"We’ve just returned from another wonderful holiday in Skiathos and had a fantastic stay at Hotel Ostria. In fact, it’s the best accommodation we’ve stayed in on the island. Sofia and her parents are absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they were always happy to help with anything we needed. The hotel and gardens are beautiful and so well looked after. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool, so there was never any problem finding somewhere to relax. A special mention has to go to the two ladies who cleaned our room. They were amazing — always smiling and so friendly, and the room was kept absolutely spotless. Towels and bed linen were changed frequently, which was lovely. The pool bar, run by Tassos and Petra and their family, was also a real highlight. Everyone was so friendly and polite, and there was a good choice of breakfasts, snacks and drinks. We particularly enjoyed the Greek Night, which was great fun and such a lovely evening. What really makes Hotel Ostria special is the people. Everyone made us feel welcome and helped create such a lovely, relaxed atmosphere throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend Hotel Ostria and are already looking forward to returning! ❤️🇬🇷"

"What a beautiful place to stay, our room was very clean and comfortable. Around the pool is peaceful and relaxing. The groundsman kept the place immaculate, always working on it. It's so pretty. What makes this a wonderful place to stay is the family that run it, they made us feel so welcome and where friendly and accommodating. It's a few minutes to the beach and some lovely taverna's nearby. We loved Freddy the dog ❤️ will definitely be back. Thank you for the most relaxing holiday."
