"Myself and my husband recently stayed for 10 days at Eagles nest, we had previously stayed in 2017 but it has seriously deteriorated since then. We arrived and were given the key to a room and as soon as I walked in the door the room was dated, dirty and very small. The bathroom was tiny and later on that day we found the shower to leak all over the bathroom floor and into the bedroom. We had to try and mop this up with the minimal towels we were given. On our way to dinner we informed reception who told us they would get someone out the next day to look at it. We stayed in the room for one night but the shower flooded the bathroom and into the bedroom the next morning so my husband asked reception again if someone was coming to look at it or if they could move us to a different room as we were not happy with the shower flooding, especially as I am pregnant and it was a slip hazard. Reception told us they had no rooms available and didn’t really answer if someone was coming to look at the flooding shower. We went to breakfast where the hot buffet was cold and the continental section had ants all over it. The only thing that seemed safe to eat was toast with pre-packaged butter. Later on in the morning my husband returned to reception and again asked about being moved as we really were not happy with the flooding shower and the state of the room we were in, as this was to be our last holiday before our baby arrives and wanted to have a nice time. Eventually reception showed us two rooms, one was the honeymoon suite and one was a jacuzzi room. We would have to pay to upgrade to either these rooms, even though the bathroom flooding was not our fault. We decided that we didn’t want to ruin our holiday so to see how much it would be to move rooms, we did not care about the jacuzzi on the balcony (and it was filthy inside anyways) but the room was nicer and the shower didn’t leak. Reception had to phone the manager to ask how much it would be for us to move to the jacuzzi room, speaking in Greek. The manager stated it would cost 360€ to move, my husband and I tried to explain that although it is an upgraded room, our room was flooding so not our fault and to come down in price slightly given we’d already paid for the other room. He reduced to 350€ and according to reception the manager said if we want to move that’s the price, end of. I didn’t want to ruin our holiday and didn’t want the stress to be honest being pregnant so we paid it to move rooms. I acknowledge the room was an upgrade as they did not have any normal double rooms available however I felt that given the main reason we needed to move was the flooded shower there should have been a better price for the room, absolutely shocking customer service, we did not get an apology for the flooded shower and was as if they could not care less. The room whilst we stayed there was never cleaned, the housekeeping would make the bed and sometimes change towels but that was it, often she would not have enough towels to even replace the ones we’d been using. The pool area was mostly quiet, for a hotel that was fully booked, although the pool could do with a proper clean as most days there was dirt on the bottom of the pool. There is a shop open 24 hours where you can buy cans of drink and bottles of water. It is about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Pefkos. We are seriously disappointed with the hotel and it’s such a shame that it once was a lovely hotel in 2017 and is now just horrible to be honest. Don’t waste your money here when there are plenty of other places nearby."
