Petradi Beach Lounge Hotel

"I shared a twin sea view standard room on the first floor, with my mother and we stayed 6 nights. We absolutely loved it. Much nicer location than the Eastern beach hotels in my opinion (,closer to the sea, quiet, secluded). The view was amazing, the beach and pool area beautiful, although sadly stormy weather meant we couldn’t use them :( breakfast was plentiful and more than adequate for us and it is particularly special to eat it sitting by the sea. There is cover if the weather is not perfect. There is a free electric shuttle bus into the town centre which runs 4 times a hour from a carpark a minute away from the hotel. This was fantastic if you don’t want to walk, although the walk is flat and only takes 15-20mins. The town itself is beautiful with loads of fabulous food and drink options and lovely shops. Also the main bus station is around 10mins walk, or again use the electric bus. From here tickets are very inexpensive and you can get to the south coast beaches, Chania and Heraklion very easily. Thoroughly recommend this hotel in every way."

"Honestly, the only star will be for the setting, the pool, and the snack bar staff. Having left right after our wedding for our honeymoon, we booked at this hotel. After seeing the very appealing images on the website, and not having had a choice of room exposure when booking (road side or sea/pool side), we were expecting a completely different stay. We were placed in a ground-floor room, road side, with absolutely no soundproofing. We could hear, on one side, the many cars and trucks passing by non-stop (the road into town, a mandatory route!) and on the other side, throughout the night, the coming and going of guests, slamming the entrance door each time they passed, and from 6 a.m. the kitchens starting to set up, continuous noise of dishes, then again guests entering and leaving the hotel (who unfortunately, even at 7:30 a.m., do not make the effort to respect the surrounding rooms...). We explained our problem to the manager, explaining that it was possible for us to pay the difference to change rooms, however, the hotel was overbooked, so there was no possibility. He showed no compassion toward us and even seemed amused, unlike the receptionist who welcomed us. Summary: 4 almost sleepless nights. A real shame! Do your research well before booking your room, so you don't have the same vacation we did!"

"This place is absolutely incredible and the perfect little get away to relax turn off and recharge! From us arriving late at night we were met by the kindest lady on reception (we didn’t get her name) but she couldn’t do enough to help us on that evening and every evening there after. After taking us to our room and showing us where we needed to go she made sure we knew where the best places to eat was and ensured we could grab a drink at the bar… her kindness was the same every time we approached her (even when we needed emergency water at 5am!) The staff here really can not do enough to help especially in the restaurant, Elena is so lovely and a credit to them, she gave us ideas on locations to visit and again nothing was to much for her from menu recommendations or just a general chat about the area! The hotel was absolutely immaculate all of the time, the rooms are beautiful even if you get the “economy” room, although this is facing the road you can not hear any noise no matter the time when the doors are closed. Breakfast was simple but lovely, has everything you need again the staff working always made sure you had what you wanted. MyZen restaurant is the hotel restaurant and is just perfect for a gorgeous sunset view and some delicious food if you’re not feeling up to going out, you don’t need to! The portions are great and the food tastes incredible. In terms of the town centre WOW. It’s a 20 minute walk or 7€-10€ in a taxi depending on what area you want to go to. There are sooooo many places to eat and all of them nice as each other, if you want culture there are so many lovely little streets with taverna’s on them and gorgeous shops and there’s also more “commercial” bars and restaurants. Overall it was the perfect little escape that we needed and considering we booked it so last minute the value for money was perfect we will recommend this hotel to everyone! Side note, it’s about an hour in a taxi from the airport which will cost €100 in a taxi or there is a public coach, this takes 1hr 30 to 2hrs which costs 8€ per person and is a lovely scenic drive so would recommend booking a shuttle if arriving late and get the coach back."
