"The hotel is aesthetically very beautiful. The exterior, the pool area, and especially the rooftop terrace are stunning, and the restaurants are good. I would also particularly like to mention the restaurant staff and the team serving the beach area: we met some genuinely kind, attentive, and helpful people who contributed positively to our experience.
Unfortunately, however, the overall experience did not live up to what I would expect from a resort in this category, especially considering the price we paid: approximately €6,000 for six nights.
First of all, the pool area felt significantly undersized for the number of guests, particularly when it came to the number of sunbeds available. In the morning, if you left your towel on a sunbed and went to have breakfast, there was a real possibility that by the time you returned, your towel would have been removed and someone else would already be occupying your place.
I completely understand that a sunbed should not be reserved for hours without being used, but going to breakfast and returning to find that you no longer have a place is equally frustrating. At a resort of this level, I do not think guests should have to start every morning worrying about whether they will manage to find a sunbed by the pool.
We had a similar impression at the beach: too few sunbeds, and the beach area itself felt rather modest compared with what I would expect from a hotel in this category. I expected a much more thoughtfully designed beach area with sufficient space and facilities for the resort’s guests.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the room.
We chose a higher-category room that was presented as having a private pool. In reality, the pool was shared with approximately four or five other rooms.
To me, there is a very significant difference between a “private pool” and a pool shared with guests from several other rooms. I believe this should be communicated extremely clearly at the time of booking so that guests know exactly what they are paying for.
The room itself was very small, and the bathroom was extremely small. In fact, it was so cramped that when the bathroom door was open, you could not open the shower door. Considering the room category we selected and the price we paid, the level of comfort was far below my expectations.
There were three of us staying in the room, yet on one of the days we were provided with only two sets of towels. There were also no slippers for the child and no beach bag provided.
Individually, these may seem like minor details. However, when choosing a premium resort and paying a premium rate, it is precisely these details that you expect to be handled impeccably. To me, luxury is not simply about beautiful décor; it is also about attention to the guest and attention to detail.
Another disappointing aspect was the evening experience.
The hotel has a beautiful rooftop terrace where the evening entertainment takes place. Unfortunately, there are far too few seats. We spent six evenings at the resort and not once were we able to find a seat outside on the terrace to enjoy the entertainment.
It is a shame to have such a beautiful space and offer an evening programme when some guests cannot actually enjoy it simply because there is not enough seating.
Furthermore, the entertainment ended at around 11:00 p.m., after which there was practically nothing else to do within the resort.
I am not expecting parties until the early hours of the morning, but when I choose to spend six nights at a resort and pay approximately €1,000 per night, I expect to be able to enjoy the hotel after 11:00 p.m. A lounge, some background music, a bar with a pleasant atmosphere, or simply a space where guests could stay and socialise would have made a huge difference. I do not think the only options after 11:00 p.m. should essentially be to end your evening or leave the resort.
Another thing that genuinely surprised me was breakfast. There was no option to have freshly squeezed orange juice.
This may sound like a small detail, but to me it says a lot about the level of service. At approximately €1,000 per night, in a Mediterranean destination, I find it difficult to understand why freshly squeezed orange juice would not be available at breakfast. At this price point, I would expect something like this to be standard rather than considered a luxury.
The airport transfer was another detail that made me question whether the overall experience truly justified the rate.
The hotel does offer an airport transfer service, but it comes at an additional cost. The airport is approximately 70 km from the resort, and considering that we chose a higher-category room and paid around €6,000 for six nights, I would have expected airport transfers to be included.
This is not about being unable or unwilling to pay separately for a transfer. It is about the overall guest experience. When a resort charges premium rates, I expect certain services to be part of that experience and to feel that the hotel has considered the guest’s comfort from arrival through to departure.
Overall, the hotel is beautiful, the restaurants are good, and the restaurant and beach staff were among the highlights of our stay. There were certainly things we appreciated, and I believe it is only fair to acknowledge them.
However, for me, the main issue remains the value for money.
When you pay approximately €6,000 for six nights in a higher-category room, expectations are naturally high. You are not simply paying for a hotel that looks beautiful in photographs. You are paying for the entire experience: the room, comfort, service, attention to detail, pool, beach, food, entertainment, and that feeling that you are genuinely staying at a premium resort.
Unfortunately, we did not have that feeling.
There were simply too many moments during our stay when we found ourselves thinking, “At this price, this should not be happening.”
The hotel has potential and certainly has some very good qualities, but based on our experience, the level of service and facilities provided did not justify the price.
For approximately €1,000 per night, I simply expected more."
