"We had a lovely 2wk stay in Sept. Stelios & Rene are lovely and very helpful. Superb views from our apartment (No.7) to Kolibari in one direction and towards Chania in the other, Air conditioning and safe were included without additional costs. Kitchen and bathroom a bit dated but fully functional. Our apartment was cleaned 6 days out of every 7 by lovely friendly cleaners, also our bed sheets and towels were changed every 3 days, the apartment was very clean. We wanted different bowls and cups in the kitchen and this was supplied within an hour, plus an extra pillow. Our shower head was clogged up only offering a trickle, I asked Rene if she could get it changed and this was promptly done. The walk up from the beach or the town can be a challenge depending on your level of fitness and which route you take, but there is a less steep route up quiet roads between the Olive trees that is easier but in the dark, you may require a torch, we didn't have any issues. We walked to the beach and used the Taverna there for nice traditional food on a couple of occasions, the walk back took us about 20-25 mins (in 28 degs), we are 66 & 74 respectively and reasonably fit. Reception can arrange car hire and trips out to places like Balos & Gramvousa, well worth going there by boat which will also take you to Gramvousa Island that is not accessible by car (advisable not to use a hire car on the dirt road towards Balos as damage will invalidate your car insurance!) The Antilia Apartments gardens are lovingly maintained. We saw Stelios cleaning the pool early in the mornings and a cleaner sweeping up. Stelios comes around the pool for a chat and has a lot of recommendations through his knowledge of places to visit. Rene does the breakfasts which you have under cover next to the pool and she's also available in the reception most of the day. In the town there are Taverna's, a pharmacy, Bakery, Supermarket, hairdressers, ATM and a bus stop where you get the bus to Chania which runs every 20 mins and you pay on board, you can also travel in the opposite direction to Kolimbari (5km) and this also runs every 20 mins or you can walk there along the footpath at the roadside, we did and it took us an hour, but we got a taxi back for 12 euro, but we had also walked another 2km further on to the Monastery and fed the tame deer opposite. We walked to Spilia (means Cave in Greek), it took us one hour along back roads using Google maps, well worth visiting for it's Cave Church, also two nice Tavernas. Close to Spilia at Vouves there's the old (at least 2000 years depending on which article you read) Olive Tree, small museum and cafe selling traditional cakes and local products. Our arrival at Chania Airport; we had an airport transfer booked though the holiday package provider, unfortunately it went wrong on the drop off and collection; the coach cannot get up to the apartments and we ended up in Kolimbari 5km away where the driver had to call a taxi to take us back to the Antilia Apts, this was paid for by the transfer company TLT, then there was confusion over our pick up from the apartments, two emails arrived one saying collection from the apartments, the other saying collection from Tavronitis, we waited at the apartments but no taxi arrived to take us down the steep hill, so Rene took us in her car to where the coach was waiting. We would love to return to the Antilia Apts for the hospitality, cleanliness', helpfulness and lovely views. Efcharisto everyone at Antilia Apartments."
