Yiannis Manos Hotel Resort

"I stayed here on a solo holiday in June and would 100% say this hotel and holiday exceeded my expectations. it was my first solo holiday so i didn't really know what to expect but jet 2 made the experience very simple and straightforward with regards to coach transfers. it was my first time staying at a 3 star hotel as i was on a pretty tight budget. i stayed on a half board basis and so got breakfast and evening meals included. it was a restaurant style breakfast and diner and the food was good. i was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. there we 2 decently sized pools and you could get a sunbed at a any of the day which was so convenient if you wanted to pop of out for a few hours. the room was serviced ever other day including fresh towels and toilet roll/ soap, shampoo was also included. you had to pay to use the air con but i managed without. unfortunately, staying on the ground floor meant i didn't have access to a private balcony or benefit from a high view, however the balcony i did have, had a rack to dry wet clothes on and was nicely decorated with flowers. the hotel staff were lovely, helpful and so welcoming. special shoutout to Emma, linsey and Emma who were always so friendly. there wasn't much entertainment in the evening at the hotel, but the sports bar was always busy, serving delicious cocktails also providing a pool table. i only had a light lunch on a couple of occasions but it is available until 5pm. the location of the hotel couldn't really have been better. it was far enough away from the strip to give you a quiet nights sleep. it was a 15 minute walk to Malia beach and potamos beach. there is around a 10 euro charge for sunbeds at both beach's. the beach's were stunning and you could walk for around a mile on both. the water was cool, but warm enough to swim. Malia old town is also around a 20 minute walk away and was absolutely stunning, well worth a visit. there is also cheap local bus in the town that can take you to nearby towns. there are not many negative points about the holiday, but i will just mention the ants. not the hotels fault of course, and i didn't mention it to the staff and the time. if you do choose to eat in your room and you're staying on the ground floor, do not get any food on the floor. you will get an infestation of ants in a matter of minutes. i also received a note under my door on my 2nd day letting me know about a blood stain on the pillowcase. i was told that i would be paying for the replacement were i not able to remove the stain myself. there was also a charge to use a checkout room on departure, which is normal so i just used the shower in the reception toilets for a quick freshen up before my return flight. it is also worth noting that you have to pay for all drinks you have during dinner as they are not included in half board, however they are included for breakfast. you are able to leave your luggage behind a desk in the reception area which was a big help considering my flight back wasn't until very late. all in all this was an amazing holiday and i would 100% recommend this hotel and Malia in general."

"Fantastic hotel and staff. Spotless accommodation, food is great (I opted for half board) couldn’t complain about anything! A special mention to Emma, she is such a star and made my holiday even better! And to Manos, such a sweetheart! And to Linzi and Ellie, such lovely, lovely women, they are all a credit to the hotel. The Management are super helpful and would do anything for the holiday makers, it’s very handy for the beach and strip, only a 10-15 mins walk. I would not hesitate to visit again and I’m only sorry I hadn’t booked for more than a week"

"This is a wonderful hotel, stayed half board and I can’t fault any meal I had. Spotlessly clean. Nothing too much trouble! I have to mention the staff, they made my holiday! Emma was an absolute star and made my every day fun, she is a star! And lovely Manos, a real sweetheart! Lino and Ellie are also such wonderful people, keep hold of them all!! They all made my holiday special and I’m sorry I only booked a week, I will definitely go back!"
