Kristalli Hotel Apartments

"Where do I start, from arrival to end this hotel and the staff were absolutely exceptional in every way. We arrived quite late at night and checked into room number 9 - a studio with everything you need, super clean bedsheets, towels for the bathroom, towels for the pool area, a small but perfect for us kitchen area, good storage for clothes, and a wonderful and very powerful and hot shower. As we arrived late the restaurant was not open, however Nikos made us a pizza which was superb. We didn't book B&B as we had our own cooking facilities for that however we did eat at the pool restaurant a few times and it was outstanding. I'd recommend the smoked salmon, avocado, cream cheese and poached egg for breakfast - you will not be disappointed. The pool area is also super clean as are the toilets, sunbeds comfortable and no need to be up and get sharp elbows out to try and get a bed, there are loads of them, with parasols, and cushions which are free to use. Maid service is daily bedsheets changed every three days and fresh towels on request. The housekeeping staff are really friendly and efficient. A mention to Dimitrios the night security - it made us feel super comfortable that there was someone patrolling in the evening, although I must mention that we did not feel unsafe at any time in any part of Malia at all - everyone was so friendly. The next day after arrival we went out exploring the old town. There is a supermarket about a 2 min walk from the hotel that has lots of basics, tea, coffee, milk, water, bread, eggs, cheese, biscuits, crisps, etc. Further down the hill a little is Mirage, owned and ran by Matthew, which was just lovely. His family also own Mr Dish which is in the new town - believe me when I say the spaghetti carbonara in Mr Dish is to die for - a must try! We also ate in Milos Taverna (superb lamb), Zorbas (outstanding pizza's - Try the Sea Lovers), Sokaki (try the spit roast chicken), Stavlos and Elizabeth (steak yum), San Giorgios (mushroom starter is amazing as is the fillet steak), Geitonia (chicken Souvlaki), Avli (seabass) Odas (everything), Classico (hanging chicken kebab). Giannis is super for a sit down and restful drink with fabulous surroundings, and Kipouli Bar just as you come down the hill turn left and before Zorbas is a wonderful little Taverna ran by Yannis who cant do enough for you. HIs music is rock, and all sounds the same, but the service and surroundings are really special. He's a bit of a character and gets you on the raki!! The Red Lion in the new town is a great pub with lovely food drinks, and staff - Sophie is amazing at leading the team! We ventured out to Reflex one night for a bit of a dance and that was also really great - however we were caught up in a storm for the first 8 days of our holiday, managing to get some (5 days) of sunshine before we headed home, and the electricity went out in Reflex a couple of times which only added to the great time we were having and was pretty funny. All in all we had a super holiday and will most defintely return to Kristalli, Malia, and all of the places above I have named, together with those that we have missed as we just didn't have enough time. "Just the best place to go Kristalli offers so much at the top end of the old village A beautiful family run place to stay. On arrival we were helped to our room which was spotless clean the bathroom was lovely with a great powerful shower and water was always hot. Also in the room was a lovely bottle of wine a nice little touch The pool is lovely again everywhere was spotless clean with the nicest of pool toilets again kept immaculate. A lovely little children's pool and a selection of toys and little house which the little ones loved. Never any need to get up and put your towels on the sunbeds as plenty for everyone also paracols and little cushions to put . We stayed b&b breakfast which is buffet had a good selection but if you want a full English you have to pay extra. The buffet was enough for us The staff lovely and komissa who does so much is a Gem 💎 No pressure if you want to go out or dont want to eat like weve had before at other places The food on the menu is lovely and the drinks are good The village is so beautiful with stunning tavernas and good quality run restaurant to many to mention, Its a 15 mins walk to the top of the strip also with alot of restaurants We loved this place and will defo return, alot of returning guests and I can see why ."

"These apartments are lovely and spacious, we had a refurbished room which was really nice, all the staff were lovely, we stayed b&b, the breakfast is very basic, probably better to get up and order off the main menu for breakfast which was so much better. No need to put towels out early to reserve beds as there are more than enough to go around as are the umbrellas. We ate here a few times and the food was lovely. There is one thing that let's this place down in a very big way, there is no courtesy room to take a shower before your flight, most flights are very late in the day so if you wanted to spend your last day at the pool you are forced to keep your room on, I have no problem at all with this as I have done it many times, what I do have a problem with is the extortionate €60 they charge to do so, we stayed in a 5☆ hotel and only paid €35 to keep our room on. Also speaking with many other guests there seems to be varied prices for the air-conditioning, out of 4 ppl we spoke to everyone had paid different prices??? There are loads of restaurants nearby, our favourites were, Nostimo, Zorbas, San Georges, Milos was ok, don't know why everyone raves about it, don't go to Mirage, the food was awful"
