"We at Stella Palace during the Easter break and had a wonderful holiday overall.
The resort is located in a quiet area of Analipsi. There are a few small supermarkets and tavernas just outside the resort, but not a great deal else within walking distance. On site, there is a boutique and two small shops, which are slightly expensive but sell some lovely items.
We did manage a few excursions around the area - including a boat drip, train and buggy around the surrounding area. All we can say is Crete is breathtakingly beautiful.
The resort is very family-oriented and many of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The live band each evening was excellent and created a great atmosphere. It could be a little noisy late into the evening, which sometimes made it difficult to fall asleep, but this wasn't a major issue and certainly didn't detract from our overall experience.
Our room was clean, comfortable and cleaned thoroughly every morning, so we had no concerns at all.
The food was one of the highlights of our stay. There is a main buffet restaurant alongside several à la carte restaurants. During our visit, we ate at the steak restaurant (10/10), the Asian Fusion restaurant (10/10), the seafood restaurant (8/10) and the Greek restaurant (8/10). There was a fantastic variety of food, catering for a wide range of tastes. The restaurant staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable dining experience and were always attentive and accommodating.
There was plenty of entertainment. Our children absolutely loved the water park, particularly the slides, and there was always something to keep them occupied.
I would like to commend the entertainment team that was there during our stay, particularly Frida, Dr Zulu and two other wonderful young women whose names I sadly cannot remember. They were kind, enthusiastic and fantastic with all. They genuinely made our holiday and are a real credit to the resort.
It was therefore very disappointing to learn shortly before we left that the girls from the entertainment team had departed following serious concerns relating to the company responsible for managing the entertainment programme. They made it clear that these concerns were not connected to Stella Palace itself but to the entertainment team management. As guests, this left us saddened and concerned for their wellbeing. We sincerely hope the issues are investigated and that all entertainment staff working at the resort are properly supported and safeguarded, as it is a real shame for Stella Palace to have lost such talented and dedicated people.
Overall, we had a truly wonderful holiday. The facilities, food and staff made for a memorable family break, and we would happily return to Stella Palace in the future.
