FANTASTIC stay at Fantasia!
"This was a last-minute booking, we booked the evening before. We wanted to visit Kos Town and see the sights by day and go out at night. Taxis / buses are expensive and limited on Kos, so getting an apartment for the night worked out easier and cheaper. I'd read some negative reviews and was nervous about staying, especially with kids, but we had nothing to worry about! The apartment was FANTASTIC. Check-in and out was easy and the location was perfect for visting the sights and getting a feel for the town. We stayed in room 204. There were 2 large bedrooms with 2 x single beds in each, plus a bed in the living area. Kitchen + 2 stove top, sink, kettle, fridge , microwave snd dining table & chairs. The bathroom was fantastic, with towels + toiletries provided - newly refurbished + power shower. No lift, but that didn't matter because the spiral staircase had great views. The apartment was immaculately clean, with free WiFi, air-con and large balcony overlooking the street and beautiful church. We were really impressed with everything. There is also a fabulous bakery just below, so breakfast was easy too. And if you need a pool, there's a roof bar with a free pool a few doors away. Will definitely stay here again!"
BED BUGS!!
"If you are considering staying at this two-bedroom apartment, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. The place was absolutely filthy, making my stay unbearable from the moment I walked in. To make matters worse, there is no reception, so good luck trying to find any help when things inevitably go wrong. The highlight (or should I say lowlight) of my stay was discovering a disgusting bug infestation, including bed bugs that left me covered in bites. As if that wasn't enough, there is no lift, so be prepared to haul your luggage up several flights of stairs. There's also no parking, adding yet another inconvenience. The staff, if you can call them that, are completely useless. They are unresponsive and unhelpful, showing no concern for the numerous issues I reported. Things were so bad that I ended up leaving a week early and had to pay for another accommodation. This place is a nightmare, and I wouldn't wish a stay here on my worst enemy. Honestly, please and I beg you to read this review, you’ll regret staying here. Even if you think it’s cheap and it’s just a place to sleep. This isn’t the place to do it. I’m happy roughing it, and this brought the idea of camping as a better alternative. What ever you do. Please don’t stay here. Avoid at all costs!"
A real mixed bag bargain but beware
"A mixed Bag Great Location on five way crossroads All one way and just south east of city centre. Opposite a large bank/ATM Above the fantastic cake shop indulgent restraunt. Four minute walk to nearest beach and lots of quality seafront restraunts. Another road leads into town 10 minutes away passing the Hospital includes following possible right turn to mini supmkt shop. The other directions take you towards the main centralish Bus station for travel to other resorts West of Island or the Airport bus.its less than ten minutes. or less if you take the short cut. Nearby to this bus station is Roman amphtheatre. The other routes takes you to the New Port Marina ? some ten minutes walk away. Even more beachesfollow on.You will never be short of an eating place, In three directions from here. You will also get a 7am wakeup bells from next doors Nerew Built church. Three rounds on sunday. Other good news is this solid appartment building has rooms on first to third floor via a marble spiral staircase which is unsuitable for the elderly..we struggled.NO LIFT. Also a No was the expected greeting upon artrtival.? Their is nobody 24/7 at the reception and its took 11 phone calls unanswered before finally the lady serving in the cake shop rang and got through. The supposed 5 minutes then stretched to 15. A frosty attitute followed because she blamed the ten minutes flight delay which was quickly rebuffed and not an acceptable attitude. . NOT a good start after 8 hours travel. Luckily we had room 105 which was 4 beds, The 2 white bedrooms were spacious enough and the main one with airconditioning which was almost a lifesaver. The limited kitchen was small in sizeand not really possible to cook a meal. This suited us. Phots show 2 ring electric rings , a kettle ,coffer perculater and great fridge. Cups saucers plates and glasses complete the report.Narrow balcony with chairs and tablewas usefull. Bathroom was about adequate for two people. . Includes shower but hot water was dubious to that. Needed better air extraction. Also available was small TV with thre English speaking channels inc BBC news and Bloomberg. As we booked this last minute at a bargain we could not complain and the fabulous elderly chamber maid was fantatic and a highlight. Helped a younger wife down that dangerous stairs. No real secure suitcase on leaving as checkjout is 11am. Thanks again the maid who cleaned daily. Also BAD is the description of garden area. Its a Stone tiled small truncated useless area with two overgrown pines and no chairs or sunbeds plus an iron gate enterance. See photo. PS KOS town is fabulous and a big surpise. I think Easyjet may be giving up on this one. Pity."
