Some very special shoutouts - please give these amazing colleagues a payrise:
Didka - her smiles, friendliness and warmth made every dining experience special and pleasant. She is warmer than the sun & will do anything for guests!
Nikos - so friendly, professional and great at his barman job
Rufi - a lovely amenable friendly receptionist
The cleaning staff - as well as being friendly they were great at their jobs, non-intrusive and my room was beautifully clean the entire week
Oh and THOSE VIEWS - especially from the Panorama Restaurant - wow wow wow! And the golf cart drivers who made it so much easier getting around a very hilly and often steep complex
The not so great
Sadly the quality has gone downhill since 2021, corners & costs are being heavily cut and to my mind this is a 3-star, not a 5-star.
Still being advertised as having a mini market and spa - both are now gone which is a massive shame
Some of Didka's colleagues and management were unfriendly to the point of being almost rude - drink service at dinner was unacceptably slow, her female colleague rolled eyes and got into a visible huff when being stopped walking past tables to respond to guests orders (it wasn't that busy) and the manager seemed to stand in everyone's way but refused to speak to guests or look in on them - like she was trying to look important but actually did nothing.
When I stayed in 2021 first thing in the day when you were at the Panorama Pool drinks orders would be taken and brought to your sunbed. That doesn't happen anymore.
The beachfront bar (Azure?) has really declined, no food, no a la carte evening dinner as advertised and most of the cabannas weren't set up with mattresses at the start of the week. The only snack food available was at the other pool and that food looked awful - over heated small sausage rolls etc. Time was you could get any sandwich, burger, greek salad or hot dog you liked but both bars almost appear pointless now.
And the food - oh god, the hot food at lunchtime and evenings was absolutely awful. Slop, watery, and bland. Rice totally overboiled and the chinese night on Friday made me ill. Scrambled eggs mixed with tomato at breakfast looked like vomit and the sausage selection was poor. Tinned pineapple and peaches, pears - would fresh not hurt? Coffee also very watery unless it was the Greek "sand" coffee which was nice. A huge, major decline from 2021. Totally appreciate that it's hard to please everyone on AI and the variety was wide and perfectly fine but the quality and standard of hot food was absolutely terrible and not what I associate with Greece.
The decline is unnecessary but very sad to see in such an amazing building and location. Your neighbours and competitors are not cutting back in such a way that the decline in quality is as visible and noticeable so management rapidly need to get hold of this and take action. It would be a shame and a pity to see this continue but please reward and keep hold of your good people - cleaning and some of the staff are great, but others appear miserable to be there and management clearlt needs an overhaul."
