"The positive reviews are more or less correct, so I will give you a more practical view of a great holiday hotel. Answers to questions I might like to have known
Very nice Greek style hotel, with a boutique feel, set just comfortably outside the town of Sidari. You are about ten minutes walk to the nightlife and about 15 minutes to decent beaches.
As others describe, the clients are a mix of people and is most family orientated and most important feels safe for that and indeed in general. Right now its a TUI UK & Ireland virtual exclusive so that makes up most of the guests. Nothing is more than 100m from the furthest room with most activities a lot less. Most of it is centred on the pool and bar/restaurant areas. Overall it has a great atmosphere and almost a community spirit. A faceless all inclusive with 3000 guests and queues for everything it is not.
Rooms - There are 5 blocks and around 50 rooms of various descriptions. My son and I had a standard double room in block 3. Inside a comfortable bed, a very modern bathroom with walk in/easy access shower, a fridge, kettle with tea/coffee. Clothes storage a little limited but I have seen a lot worse. There is also a safe. You will have with one or two entrances to your balcony or terrace and all of these have fly screens - great idea! My bedroom was more than adequate for us or for maybe two adults with one young child. I did see a two bed which the bedrooms themselves fine - living area a little cramped but you're not going to be spending much time there. Rooms that are not on the ground floor can be accessed by lift. If you need a really accessible room #104 has a ramp. Towels were changed daily. I don't know on bed linen! Rooms have AC which is complimentary and works well.
Food and drink. The draught beer is Mythos - indeed they have their cider too. Alongside you will find bottled Corfu, Greek and International branded lagers, most in 500ml bottles and Magners. Cans of UK stuff like John Smiths. I didn't see Guinness but could be there. They have a selection of mostly Greek wine but didn't try any. Rosé seemed a popular pick. Top shelf stuff is all branded. Prices for drink very reasonable and comparable to what you will find in town. Food - I thought the buffet a cut above others in Greece, Spain etc I have had. Good selection nightly I thought. Plenty of salads too. Naturally a great selection of quality deserts. As others have said the ala carte is better. This is served from when the pool opens at 10.00am and closes late - 11.00pm and I saw it later. A good selection of stuff on that as well, priced about the same as a mid quality restaurant in the town. The late breakfast until mid day is great value. You will generally be served upon and service is quick.
Pools - yep, there are very good - my boy enjoyed the slides and I enjoyed bobbing about in the main pool.
Sunbed wars = zero - plenty of them and always easy to get sun or shade. Around the pool are really nice quality sturdy ones with mattress - a nice touch. Around the slides and bar end of the main pool are more standard sunbeds. Plenty of parasols/shaded areas.
Pool service - yes they come round a good bit but I felt it was equally as much to check everything was genuinely fine as well as to sell you food or drink! And indicating 'no thanks' isn't a problem. They clear up after lively!
The staff overall are brilliant and courteous - they really can't do enough for you and make you feel most welcome.
They keep the place very well cleaned so there aren't many wasps but there are a few mozzies so take whatever you feel works if they like feeding on you.
Entertainment and animation. There's something on most nights - the biggie is the Greek night but there is also a singer in another night as well as a couple of quiz nights and the dreaded bingo. For the kids there's a little bit throughout the day - some around the pool some stuff like art etc and most evenings a mini disco, maybe face painting etc.
Local - You will find a shop about 200m/5 minute walk away which has a reasonable selection of stuff from drinks to beach to sweets and souvenirs. Another 3 or 4 minutes are a couple of good supermarkets where the locals would shop and of course what you would call a proper supermarket.
Sidari 'Strip' has everything you'd expect really from a tourist town - plenty of lively bars, some excellent restaurants, fast food, tons of touristy shops etc and to suit all budgets. Cash is king of course. There is a more limited selection of restaurants nearer to the hotel - en-route to and around where the supermarkets are.
The roads are a little dirt track style but are well lit at night
Gripes and niggles! What would be a holiday without them! My main one was the shower. hot, cold, hot, cold - I thought originally just bad regulator or time of day but I came to realise the water is heated by the sun and stored so it really just how it comes from the tank. You get used to it! My other one was the chips or French Fries. To me they taste and look like a bit like my local Chinese rather than the European norm. On the ala carte they come with most things. Which of course makes a baguette pricier than needs be. Perhaps offer them as an option or just offer just a plain toastie please.
So to sum up this holiday met my expectations and well beyond. And if you are thinking about coming here - just book it - you won't regret it"
