"I'm going to start with the negatives and get them out of the way.
When you enter the reception area, it smells like stagnant water. I'm assuming it's an aircon issue, but it's not the best first impression. Thankfully it seems to be isolated to the reception only, but they really should sort this out.
We didn't feel the different levels of AI were well explained, or where we could find entertainmemt atc as there are a number of "rooftop" venues. Some people received free upgrades on arrival, we didn't even get the option for a paid upgrade.
Being in the mountains, there were a lot of wasps. Not the hotel's fault but something to consider. I'd say it was worst at the pool by Vivaldi Italian restaurant. Incidentally, this was also the worst pool bar as the barman was an absolute misery.
The complex is hilly. Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, even with the buggies. We only requested a buggy ride once and the driver said it was "out of order" and "you can walk" while proceeded to flirt with another member of staff. No attempt to get another buggy etc.
One member of staff serving coffee in the morning was very rude to both customers and her manager there.
Our room 1316 was next to the cleaners store room so there was noise from 6.30/7am every day. If you are assigned a room next to the "staff room", request a change!
The positives...
We arrived late and staff has a snack (sandwich) waiting for us which was a nice touch as food service had finished.
The rooms are lovely. Spacious and actually look like the photos. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and the aircon stays on even when you are not in, so the temperature is constant. Perfect.
There is a handy supermarket on site and unlike in other complexes I have been to, the prices aren't inflated.
Phone reception was hit and miss for me but luckily the hotel WiFi was faultless so it never caused an issue.
There is a brilliant selection of food for every mealtime in Zoe buffet restaurant, with specialities made to order and a theme each evening. Staff were very helpful.
We had lovely lunches in Vivaldi and Olea, and the takeaway salads and snacks were so good. The staff in Vivaldia were absolutely lovely and very accommodating, especially Nikos.
I am gluten intolerant and it was exceptionally well catered for with schar products on request in Zoe and GF options and adaptations clearly labelled on menus.
Food service times are great and snacks are available pretty much all day, even pastries and infused water in reception.
There is a great selection of drinks and the bar staff are very accommodating in adapting cocktails etc, especially Jason at the swim up bar, which also had the best atmosphere.
Greek night and the entertainment was great fun. We probably would have gone to see more of the entertainment had we known where to find it earlier. Thanks to Jason for helping us out!
Reception staff were really friendly and allowed us to keep our room for an extra hour on check out day, at no extra cost, and allowed us to keep our wristbands bands so we could get lunch and drinks until we left.
The hotel is isolated and up in the mountains which isn't accessible for coach transfers to they have a private taxi service to take you to and from the main resort, which was very comfortable. Just remember that your transfer time is from the main resort, not the hotel, so allow another 10-15mins to get from the hotel to the pick up site.
All in all we had a lovely stay (just a bit noisy early in the mornings) and i would definitely return now that we have sussed out the AI and entertainment!"
