"We returned for our second visit to Rixos Premium Seagate. We stayed in the aqua side for a second time as we loved the quiet nature of it and how calm it was during our first visit. A lot of this review is regarding Aqua side. The Main side is also featured.
Check in:
Check in was seamless, staff are so attentive and there’s such a luxury feel from the moment you step foot into the hotel. We checked in on aqua side as we were booked to stay on that side. We got an amazing upgrade at no extra cost from a Family Room to a Grand Suite which was just insane!
Room:
The Grand Suite was unbelievable! Last time we were upgraded to a Superior Suite which was 2 bedrooms (king and twin) 2 bathrooms and a living room. The Grand Suite was on a much larger scale , with a lobby area , 2 bedrooms (king and twin) , dressing area outside the master bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a huge living room with corner sofa and dining table & chairs.
The room came with all the amenities you’d expect at this hotel, shampoo, conditioner, shower jel , body cream. And a whole box of goodies in the bathroom for you to enjoy. The room had 2 mini bars, one for each bedroom. Filled with drinks, chocolates and crisps. Kettle , tea and instant coffee - a good variety. It had a coffee machine with the pods too. Our room was facing the pool on the lower ground, it was almost like a swim up room. We had a large area with 4 chairs and table to sit out, the kids bedroom also had a little balcony round the side of the room.
We celebrated my birthday here, I had towel art, banners, balloons , a cake all brought to the room.
Food:
The food at this hotel is fantastic, it’s fresh and delicious. The variety is excellent, there’s something for everyone.
Veranda (Aqua side):
It’s an intimate buffet setting, serving 3 meals a day. Very personalised and high quality service, the staff are incredibly attentive and quick to serve you. They soon remember you and your children by name, we met some wonderful people at this restaurant. The variety of food here is less compared to the Turquoise due to the size difference but the quality of food does not lack at all. Breakfast was our go-to at this restaurant as it was close to our room and just made the most sense. Omelettes and eggs freshly made to order, freshly squeezed orange juice. Food constantly being refilled and served hot and fresh. You’ve got a kids corner there too, speaking for kids you’ve got cereals , yogurts , fruits , pancakes, crepes, waffles with Nutella, caramel , decorate your own doughnuts - a kids dream breakfast! Croissants and pastries galore, you also have all your hot breakfast items too.
Turquoise (Main side):
This is the famous 24/7 buffet restaurant where it serves at full capacity/offering for its main meals but is open on a lighter offering throughout the remaining of the day. This restaurant has 2 floors, I would highly recommend you to visit the lower floor as this is where you’ll find a much more extensive dining experience. There are 2 outdoor seating areas too, one for each floor. You have your Chinese foods, Indian corner, and the staples like rice and chips everyday. Pasta station , pizzas made fresh too. There is a kids corner on the upper ground level of the turquoise restaurant if your children prefer to eat easy foods and sit at tables which are perfect for their little sizes. Outside, you’ll find the chef making kebabs and chicken fresh on the grill, so be sure to try that out too. Service is good at Turquoise but sometimes can be a little bit slow with drinks, but that’s to be expected at full capacity. At dinner time especially around 7pm the restaurant can get super busy. But, you’ll manage to be seated, the staff will find you a table within a minute of looking.
Also, both restaurants offer an ice cream bar which is Movenpick. Such a lovely treat to end your meal with.
À la carte:
There are several restaurants on site, during this holiday we visited , people’s (international), the mangal (bbq) and lalezar (Turkish). It’s definitely not easy to get booked into the à la cartes here, I tried with guest relations on our second day as it was my birthday , but they were unable to get us into any restaurant without even looking at the computer to check for cancellations. I’m guessing we caught her at the beginning of her shift and she hadn’t logged in yet. The lady informed us to check the app at 4pm precisely, which we then did for the rest of the trip, hence we managed 3 reservations during an 8 night stay. To be honest, these 3 were the only ones that we actually wanted anyway. I did notice the Asian was one to quickly be booked within a second of logging on though. You need to be on the booking site 4:00pm sharp, not a minute later. The service and food at the restaurants were really nice and of high quality.
Drinks:
We do not drink any alcohol, so we have no comments to make on any alcoholic drinks. Soft drinks and mocktails were lovely.
Aqua Park:
The Aqua park is heated which is lovely for this time of year, it means the kids can be in and out for a good amount of time. The lifeguards around the aqua park are so lovely and so on-it with safety and really take their jobs seriously which is so important to see when you have little non swimmers with you. Sunbeds were pretty easy to find, lifeguards will make sure you get somewhere to sit. There’s a food court there which serves food like chicken nuggets, chips , burgers, hot dogs, jacket potatoes, mozzarella sticks. Quick bites to eat whilst you’re at the aqua park.
Pools:
We didn’t use the pools over on the main side as we stayed on the Aqua side, we did use the main aqua pool but did notice it wasn’t easy to get a sunbed during peak times. The hotel was at almost full capacity over Easter and there were lots of families. We ended up spending most of our water time at the Aqua park.
Beach:
The beach is ok, it’s sandy and rocky a little mix. We aren’t super avid beach lovers so it’s. It something that was super high up on our priority when we chose this location. I’m guessing if you’re looking for the super white sandy beaches, Sharm isn’t the place to come. The beach does have lots of food and drink options, so if you’re a beach goer you can easily spend a decent amount of time here without having to leave to eat and drink. Sunbeds are padded, plenty to go round even through the peak hours.
Kids club:
The kids club does let this hotel down unfortunately. It’s not a patch on Radamis (according to videos and photos). On the main side, it has a baby room, which has a few plastic toys, art room, which is pretty underwhelming. You have a cinema room, also not very nice and a gaming room which I saw a few children using. There is an outdoor play area, featuring a couple of swings , a slide and some more plastic coloured toys. There is also a kids pool. There really isn’t much going on , it tends to be closed, especially the outdoor area, a few times we thought to take the children for a play. We visited this hotel in 2024, the kids club seemed to be a lot more lively with the music and staff interaction. They had a little more going on compared to now but it just seemed so dead whenever we went in or walked past. If you’re looking to book this hotel and one of your top checkboxes is a kids club then this will let you down. Over on the Aqua side, they have a large sandpit, few swings and slides, less than the main side but the kids seemed to enjoy that outdoor area a little more.
After meeting a person on our flight home who stayed at Radamis, they said they wished they stayed at Seagate. They didn’t find it to be 5star, and the only good thing was the kids club.
We were contemplating between both hotels as we have been to Seagate before but were extremely glad we chose Seagate as I don’t think the kids club is enough to sway. Especially seeing as we don’t actually leave our kids there.
Spa:
I used the spa for a massage, which was so relaxing and calming. The whole feeling of the Spa, it’s so rejuvenating and truly therapeutic. You genuinely feel so relaxed in there, the smell the music and lighting, wonderful spa and a brilliant massage. A little pricey but that’s the tax that comes with a 5star luxury resort.
Entertainment:
We kept it quiet and simple this year, we didn’t attend any of the evening entertainment or shows. We did go to the kids Easter circus party which was lovely for the kids.
Excursions:
We didn’t do any this time around as we did them back in 2024. However, the guys that come round the pools, pyramids diving centre, they’re lovely and reliable from our experience using them.
Golf buggy’s:
The golf buggy drivers were one of the highlights of our trip, they’re such lovely people and once you start chatting they remembered our names and just gave us such a personal touch to our holiday.
Main Side vs Aqua Side:
For those that are confused, there are 2 separate buildings opposite each other on a main road. One is called Rixos Premium Seagate and the other is called Rixos Premium Seagate Aqua or Second line.
When you physically look at the hotels, you can’t see a physical sign that says Aqua or second line, but that’s the name they use to differentiate between them.
The Main side is where most of the things are such as multiple pools, main buffet, entertainment stage, kids club, spas, à la cartes, the beach.
The Aqua side has one main pool , its own smaller restaurant, one of the payable à la cartes, the Aqua park and kids club.
The Aqua side is quieter at night , calmer in the day, more intimate and just less going on. You’ll find a lot of families staying this side, we noticed mostly Brits staying this side during the Easter holidays. The evening is dead quiet, which is perfect if you like an early night or you have kids to get to sleep. If you’re more of a night owl, then Main side might be more your vibe. Although, you can stay at Aqua and still join in with the entertainment at Main and just get a buggy home to Aqua side.
The buggy system works by taking you on a golf buggy cart between both sides using an underground pass. It takes a couple of minutes to get to each side, a waiting time of 5-10 mins at each stop during peak hours.
Overall:
I’d come back to this resort in a heartbeat. I have been twice now, both at different times of year and had a wonderful time during both my holidays. I’d recommend this hotel, if you want somewhere to truly relax and enjoy yourselves, without a worry in the world."
