"Overall, this is an okay hotel to stay at. We had a generally pleasant holiday, although there are definitely a few areas that could be improved.
Arrival and Room
When we arrived, the staff at reception were friendly and welcoming, as was the gentleman who helped us with our luggage.
Once we got to the room, we realised that we needed an additional single bed for the four of us. The hotel dealt with this very quickly, which we appreciated.
Our room cleaner was excellent. She was always very friendly and cleaned and organised our room nicely every single day. We were very happy with the housekeeping throughout our stay.
Food and Restaurants
There was always something available to eat. The selection is not huge compared with some other all-inclusive hotels, but I always managed to find something I liked and never left the restaurant hungry.
One downside is that during dinner time we often had to wait at the entrance because the restaurants were full. We did not really experience this at breakfast, but at dinner there was usually some waiting time.
The waiters were generally very good, friendly and helpful.
There can also be queues at some of the food stations, which is understandable in a busy hotel. However, one thing I found frustrating was that occasionally it seemed that guests who tipped more were given priority.
For example, I was waiting for an omelette when another guest came along, skipped the queue and ordered two omelettes. The chef then gave him the omelette that was being prepared for me. I found this quite disappointing and simply walked away.
I had a similar experience at the beach bar. I was waiting to be served while other guests repeatedly came to the front and ordered several beers at once, while I was being overlooked. Thankfully, these were isolated experiences, and in most other bars and restaurants the service was very good.
All-Inclusive Package
The all-inclusive offering could be clearer and more generous.
I completely understand that some premium drinks may not be included, but I was surprised to find that even some fruit was chargeable. For example, if you wanted watermelon, you had to pay extra for it.
There are also ice cream freezers located around the bars, but these are not included in the all-inclusive package. Free ice cream was available for a limited period in the afternoon, which I believe was approximately between 2pm and 4pm.
For an all-inclusive resort, I think basic items such as fruit and ice cream should really be included throughout the day.
Snacks
The snack options were probably the weakest part of the hotel for us.
The pool snack bar does not open until around 12:30pm, so if you have an early breakfast, there can be quite a long wait before food is available again. There was also often a queue at the pool snack bar, and service could be quite slow.
The beach snack bar had nicer food and usually much shorter queues. However, we found that if you arrived after around 2pm, most of the food had already been packed away and only pizza was left.
This was inconvenient for us because our youngest child usually had an afternoon nap, so by the time she woke up, pizza was often the only food available. It would be much better if a wider selection of snacks remained available throughout the afternoon.
Beach
The beach itself is very nice. The entrance to the sea is quite rocky, so suitable footwear can be useful.
There is also some coral reef and plenty of colourful fish nearby, which makes it a lovely place if you enjoy snorkelling.
Entertainment
The entertainment was probably not really to our taste. We found it a little repetitive and not particularly exciting.
Quite a few of the activities relied heavily on guest participation, often involving guests being brought on stage to do funny or silly things. Some people will definitely enjoy this style of entertainment, but personally we would have preferred a little more variety and more professionally organised evening shows.
Overall
Overall, we had an okay stay. The hotel has some very friendly and hardworking staff, the rooms were well looked after, the beach is nice and there was always something available to eat.
However, I think the hotel could improve the organisation of the restaurants and queues, make sure guests are served fairly regardless of tipping, provide a better selection of afternoon snacks, and include more basic items such as fruit and ice cream within the all-inclusive package.
It was not a bad holiday at all, but with a few improvements the overall experience could be much better."
