"Staying for one night for business, this was a very mixed bag. The good: the location is good, the bed was comfortable, the room itself was nicely decorated and a good size. Staff were broadly pleasant. The bad: the bathroom felt quite tired; the doors of the shower cubicle did not quite close together, the toilet lid would not stay up without being held, and the cabinet had some cracks visible on it. The hangers in the wardrobe were also very scuffed and old, which while not a problem per se, does suggest an overall attitude. There were also no plugs by the bed, which is a pet hate of mine for charging devices overnight that are also the morning alarm. Breakfast also had issues: while the price seemed reasonable for the location, I had an issue where my ticket was lost, and it took a long time to get staff’s attention to ask where the food was. The resulting very loud angry conversation from the kitchen made it clear this was not an isolated incident. The quality of the ingredients also seemed very cheap. Overall, the hotel felt like a reasonable mid range hotel, and had I booked it as a two to three star, I would have shrugged slightly about the issues. As a four star boutique, however, it is lacking, and could do with some attention being spent on it to focus in and update to a more polished experience."

"Stayed there for almost a week. The room is large, comfy, well lit and has nice colours. The first day was a bit of a rough start as there was a really bad smell of sewage from the bathroom, but this was probably because of an issue there was with the toilet. Perhaps try and ask not to be in room 201. In general the hotel building isn't very new and could probably use some renovations, but it's quite good. The location is great, 5 minutes walk from the nearest underground station, and very close to at least two big supermarket stores and many restaurants. The room is a bit noisy, both from outside (mostly from fast cars) and from the room in the floor above. The elevator is good, keep in mind there's only one but the hotel isn't very big so it's not an issue. Room service was good on some days and less great on others. Overall it was a good stay."

"Avoid at all costs. Not a 'boutique' hotel and nowhere near 4*. I didn't even stay to see the room. The reception area (if you even call it that) spoke volumes. Cheap, dirty, not cared for and unwelcoming. Rude staff. Lost my £350 but knew there was no point in even raising a complaint when heard how another customer (asking for the manager) was dealt with. Money racket. Only even consider this if you have absolutely no other choice. I love South Kensington and stay often. Never had a problem before. I paid to stay somewhere else (lovely as normal) rather than 'stick it out' and ruin my holiday!"
