STAY NEAR THE SHORES OF LAKE GENEVA
Step out of the front door of this charming hotel for a very welcoming sight: panoramic views of Lake Geneva’s crystal-clear blue waters. Locations for city breaks in Switzerland’s capital city really don’t come much better than this.
You don’t have far to go for some old-town charm, either. Simply take a 15-minute stroll from the hotel to arrive at Place du bourg-de-Four – the heart of Geneva’s old town and the perfect place to sit back at and watch the world go by. From the square, it’s just a five-minute stroll to both Saint Pierre Cathedral and the fascinating exhibits at the Museum of Art and History.
For something very different, walk across Mont Blanc Bridge and make your way to the harbour to see Geneva’s iconic water jet – the emblem of the city and a sight that’s begging for you to take a photo or two. In the evening, take a stroll along the Gustave-Ador Quays – a 6km stretch of continuous pathways with sweeping views of the lake and relaxing green spaces that are loved by locals and tourists alike.
You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to food and drink – just as you’d expect from a cosmopolitan city. Restaurants serving up cuisine from around the world are everywhere, as are more traditional eateries for visitors who prefer a true taste of Switzerland.
You don’t have to travel far for great food, however. In the mornings head to the hotel restaurant – L’artisan – for a huge breakfast buffet, featuring a wide range of dishes to please even the fussiest eater. L’Artisan’s open for lunch and dinner, too – serving up contemporary French cuisine and international favourites from its mouth-watering á la carte menu. In the summer, dine on the hotel terrace and savour the panoramic views of Lake Geneva laid out before you.
