"Tui October uk half term with a 15&17 year old.The staff at this hotel are all wonderful and it’s well run, clean and organised. Rarely queued for anything. Loads of sunbeds any time of day. Food was high quality and varied. Booked the two BBQkai restaurants the morning before 830am sharp on the app. BBQ was only open on Tuesdays, Kai Wed-Sat when we went.
Tui coach Transfer was only 40 mins each way. Noon check out on last day but lots of sun loungers in shade so could still enjoy the last afternoon without getting too sweaty. Two courtesy shower rooms available next to reception toilets but can’t book these in advance. There are outdoor pool showers/toilets next to both pools you could rinse off and change if needed though.
Our adjacent twin rooms (392/3) were clean and great view. Hairdryer- good but attached to wall in bathroom. Beds -very comfy. Air con-good & quiet. Two Usbs in one bedside plug. Blackout blinds. Vodafone 5g good in whole area. Free WiFi good throughout hotel and never logged you out.
Football/multi sports pitch on highest floor. A big reason we booked this hotel as our sports mad son just wanted to be here or in the gym all day!
Bingo every afternoon at Emerald bar by top pool and loads of sporty entertainment on offer. Can check on the Rui app before you go what’s available along with loads of info like bar menu, bus times, food menus, opening times etc.
Rui party-every Friday night at Rui Gran Canaria hotel half hour away. You can’t Prebook until you check in and it was already full when we arrived late Thursday. We found one of the entertainment team on Friday though and was added to a waiting list. Everyone on there got a space on the coach as some people book but don’t go. We liked nosying around their hotel grounds when needed a break from the loud music. The party is in the hotel courtyard but the stage area partly covered. Very busy and hot.
Despite concerns there wouldn’t be much to do as cliff side location we did different things each morning. We walked down to Puerto Rico a few times. Once to Mogan shopping centre -used their free bus that drove to Playa Del Ingles and the dunes. We wanted to get a local bus back but none turned up so we paid €30 taxi to get back to hotel. Taxi back from Puerto Rico harbour about €7. Card or cash.
Ferry ( glass bottom but too murky in tiny window to actually see anything) every hour from Puerto Rico harbour to Mogan which is very pretty to visit. Takes half hour each way. 7.50 single €13 return over 12’s. We booked the Mogan yellow submarine tour with coach transfer on Tui app on another day too.
Snorkled around the rocks at the next beach west- “Cueva Bufadero de Tauro” pinned on google maps. Clear water and lots of fish. We all went on the beach inflatable course at Amadores beach -exhausting but great fun. Water very calm.
Europa centre less than 10 mins walk- supermarket, mini golf, tourist shops and good Irish bar with 9pm live music each night. Great family atmosphere.
No mosquitos and weather was perfect each day -cloudy/sunny but zero rain and light breeze. Never needed a jumper. BBC app said 25 degrees each day. Heaven.
Only complaint for hotel is you’re not allowed any soft balls/ games/inflatables (arm bands ok) in the 2 big pools.
The roads to hotel and all around coast are very twisty too so lots of travel sickness tablets needed to be taken!
Would definitely recommend this hotel. We had a wonderful week there."
