Gran Amadores Apartments

"Stayed for a week in October. Pros: Good location, building work next door not a big deal. Spar shop very close by. Nice balcony with the room, good view. Pool was ok, no problem getting a sunbed. Cheap bar with friendly staff. Cons: No aircon in room No oven in room The electric hobs in our room were barely functioning - gave off very little heat. I wouldn’t expect to be able to make a Michelin star meal in accommodation like this, but it would have been nice to be able to fry an egg in less than 25 mins. Rooms were clean, but the glass roof on the bar was filthy, which was a little off putting. If there is free WiFi, it isn’t obvious how to get it. What came up on my phone was 18 euro a week."

"We have just come back from a cheap week away in the winter sun and it was super hot 25 degrees. This is an apartment complex not a hotel, so you do feel quite independent which is great for us. The rooms are huge with good facilities. They are basic but clean. There is grout missing and limescale in the taps and really poor water pressure. This is a little dated and the towels could do with an upgrade but do you know what, we would come back. Yes the pumping station next door gives off a horrendous whiff and the building work next door disturbs the peace a little but it was a good location. These external factors are not the fault of Gran Amadores. Staff are good and bar staff friendly. No issues getting a sun bed but it was October. No air con which wasn’t really an issue but I can imagine in the summer it maybe a bit sweaty. The cleaners came every couple of days which is great but not at 9am when they just let themselves in after one knock and catch you trying to hop into a pair of shorts.. As I said we would still come back. Cheap and cheerful."

"Great little winter bolthole for a quick cheap week. The accommodation is basic but very clean and if any problems arise (broken kettle) they are dealt with quickly. Bar is cheap and food is well priced and tasty. There is construction work being carried out next door but it doesn't affect your holiday as its just trucks delivering supplies. It appears most of the external work has been done. This is our third year here and will definitely be back."
