"Only booked for two nights as wasn't sure if we would stay in Funchal, glad I did as it wasn't great, staff were OK and breakfast too but air conditioning sounded like a jet engine hardly slept at all. My advice would be pay a bit more and find somewhere nicer."

"On a hilly road, so you need a certain amount of energy to return to the hotel at the end of the day or evening The rooms were very small and with a tiny shower (with shower curtain, I hate shower curtains) There was no shower cap. There was a safe operated by key but there was no key offered The air con in my room didn’t work, but I was able to open the window and that was OK. There was no fridge, no tea and coffee making facilities. The cup in the bathroom was a cheap plastic cup..! There was very little storage, the wardrobe doors need attention, they were impossible to open and close without slamming and disturbing your neighbours. Strangely there was no pillow cases on my pillows the first night, there was pillow cases the second night. The breakfast was very poor. Poor selection of food, with a very small amount of hot options. Some processed hams and cheeses. Lots of breads and processed pastries - very poor quality The Coffee was terrible, it tasted like it was burnt…!"

"Excellent breakfast. Nothing unique but plenty of the regular options and good versions of them! if that makes sense. Firm but super comfy and clean beds. a stain on the curtain and simplistic decor, but who cares. I loved the bathtub. lovely big balcony and rooftop terrance though the weather meant we couldnt take full advantage. lovely view of mountains at night. Nice staff. lovely central location. Literally only complaint is that throughout the entire stay the lounge REEKED of strong scented cleaning material. all the time."
