A perfectly peaceful spot
Akrotiri is a small resort village located on the island of Zante, also known as Zakynthos, in Greece. It is perched on a hill overlooking the Ionian Sea, a vantage point that gives fantastic views of the surrounding landscape.
Although Akrotiri is just a small village, you’ll still find some handy things here, like cafes and shops. The main attraction in Akrotiri is the small, palm-shaded beach at the foot of the hill the village is built on. That said, most visitors prefer Blue Flag beaches like Tsilivi Beach, but you can return to explore the bars and tavernas dotted along the Akrotiri beachfront in the evening.
When you’re ready to explore what’s further afield, Akrotiri is within easy reach of some of Zante's most popular attractions. Take boat trips to see the famous and intriguing Blue Caves or visit the nearby Shipwreck Beach, which is only accessible by boat.
