Cairo Pyramids Hotel

"Started off badly but ended on a very good and happy note. We were allocated two cottages in a area where a lot of renovation work was going on. There was a lot of noise and dust as well. We asked the front desk for a change of rooms and the same was done immediately and the new rooms we got were excellent. The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom was neat. Being close to the major attractions in Cairo, Cairo Pyramids Hotel was a natural choice for us. The pool was also neat and well maintained. The main attraction was the wonderful breakfast buffet and the huge dining area. Every item right from the cereals, dry fruits, fresh fruits, cheese, breads to the fruit juices were excellent and looked like they were chosen with a lot of care. Overall a wonderful experience and I would certainly love to stay at the Cario Pyramids Hotel, Giza during my future visits to Cairo."

"We booked the holiday with easyJet knowing that the hotel was right opposite the GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum). Thought we might be able to walk across to the museum, but hadn’t understood how the traffic works there! Large 1.2m high concrete wall separating the two sides of the road, each with 3 lanes… had to get an Uber round to the entrance, or you could walk to the roundabout and try dodging the traffic at the roundabout… there are three traffic lights in the whole of Cairo I think! The hotel was undergoing a lot of refurbishment, known and explained to us in advance, but the room we had was quiet enough aside from the staff wheeling luggage past at very late hours to nearby rooms. The CPH has bungalow-style rooms, with a small outside patio looking onto small garden areas… the Steingenberger next door (sister hotel, and where the meals were served temporarily) was a three floor hotel with view to the Pyramids. There is not a roof top terrace at either. Our room was tired, but given that we were one of the last to possibly stay in the rooms before they were to be demolished and rebuilt, we could cope with that. Wifi was generally ok, shower pressure was very good, surroundings were lovely… lots of wildlife and flora. The meals at the Steigenberger were excellent, and the quality and variety of the buffet was exemplary each night. The restaurant manager, Halim, came to say hello every evening and was, like the rest of his team, warm and welcoming. Thanks to Mohamed and the chefs in the team too for what was probably the best salmon en croute we have ever tasted. Front of house team at the CPH were so helpful when we arrived late on the first evening, and helped us orientate ourselves very quickly. All in all, we were made incredibly welcome by all the teams, housekeeping to F&B, and it really made our holiday in Cairo special… and what a location from which to explore!"

"Hotel is situated beside a very busy road, although noise not a issue from our bungalow. Impossible to cross the road on foot to visit the fantastic Grand Egyptian Museum opposite, but we found Uber worked very well for all trips & excellent value. The hotel bungalows are very tired but kept very clean by the housekeeping staff. There is a refurb in progress, which didn't cause us any problems. The refurbished bungalows did look amazing. We ate our meals at the adjoining Steigenberger Hotel & found the food quality & variety excellent. All the staff we encountered were very helpful & cheerful, nothing was to much trouble."
