"Tripadvisor Review
A mixed experience – some great positives, but plenty of room for improvement
On arrival, the hotel looked lovely and our first impressions were good. The pools are excellent, the slides are good fun and there’s even a small water park for younger children, which my 6-year-old absolutely loved. There are also two additional pools about a three-minute walk away, including a quieter area with a children’s pool, which was a nice option when you wanted to get away from the busier pool.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few things that stopped this being a great holiday.
Entertainment
The first night’s entertainment was definitely more suited to an 18–30 Ibiza-style holiday. It was extremely loud, although the saxophonist and singer were actually very good. It continued until around midnight, so I was very glad our room wasn’t facing the entertainment area.
For the remainder of the holiday there was karaoke, singers and other entertainment, which was more in line with what you would expect from a family hotel. However, the entertainment area simply isn’t big enough for the number of guests. Seating was difficult to find and people were often left standing.
Bars & service
The outside bar was one of the biggest frustrations. It was common to wait a long time for drinks, often with just one person serving despite there being other staff behind the bar. At times, staff appeared to be standing around while queues built up.
Most of the staff were very nice and polite, but unfortunately one particular member of staff made my partner increasingly uncomfortable when she went to get drinks. What started as excessive flattery became worse as the holiday went on, to the point where she felt very uncomfortable.
Pools & wasps
The pools themselves are very good and there is plenty of choice. The biggest issue, however, was the number of wasps, particularly around the quieter pool area.
Unfortunately, on our first day I stepped on a wasp while walking down the pool steps and was stung several times. After that, the whole family was constantly watching where we were walking because there were so many around throughout the day. This really needs addressing.
Room
We had a standard room for two adults and one child. It was perfectly adequate, but definitely on the small side, particularly the balcony. There were only two chairs on the balcony, despite the room accommodating three people.
We also spoke to another family staying at the same time who had a larger family room for two adults and three children, yet apparently had the same size balcony. This seems like an area that could easily be improved.
Housekeeping, however, was very good and always prompt.
Food
The all-inclusive food was probably one of the weaker parts of the hotel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were quite repetitive and by around the third or fourth day I was finding it difficult to find something I actually wanted to eat.
The evening BBQ was a positive, with a couple of different meats available, and there was a good selection of fruit and desserts.
However, if you go for dinner after around 7:45–8pm, be prepared for some items to have run out. On a couple of occasions, things including chicken nuggets had disappeared — not something I personally eat, but obviously quite important when you have a six-year-old with you!
Beach & location
The hotel runs a shuttle bus to the beach area every 30 minutes, which is useful. There are all-inclusive drinks and snacks available, but there isn’t a huge amount around the beach area, so don’t expect lots of shops or restaurants immediately nearby.
The hotel is also situated just behind Land of Legends, which is a major positive if you’re planning to visit. It’s around a 10-minute walk.
We visited Land of Legends in the evening and found it extremely busy. With young children, particularly a child with autism, we felt the queues and crowds would have been too much, so we decided against purchasing daytime tickets. Waiting 20–30 minutes for each ride in that heat wouldn’t have been enjoyable for our family.
Gym ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
One huge positive deserves a special mention — the gym.
Hands down, this is the best hotel gym I’ve ever used. There is a huge selection of free weights, machines and cardio equipment, and the quality of the equipment is excellent. It genuinely compares with the gym I pay a monthly membership for at home.
For anyone who likes to train while on holiday, this hotel is fantastic in that respect. The gym opens at 8am.
Outstanding service from Irfan ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Another huge positive and one that I really want to highlight is Irfan, the easyJet holiday representative.
Irfan was absolutely brilliant throughout our stay. He is a genuinely lovely man who went out of his way to help us with a few issues we had during the holiday. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and he was always approachable, friendly and willing to help.
His customer service really stood out. In fact, meeting Irfan was one of the highlights of our holiday. He is a real credit to easyJet and an absolute asset to the team.
Thank you, Irfan, for all your help and for going above and beyond for us. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A special mention
I also want to give a big shout-out to one of the ladies working around the pool area. She genuinely never seemed to stop. She was constantly cleaning, keeping the area tidy and helping guests move sunbeds into the shade whenever needed.
She worked incredibly hard throughout our stay and deserves a lot of credit.
Cats 🐈
If you have a cat allergy, this probably isn’t the hotel for you.
There are cats everywhere, including around areas where people eat. While I appreciate some people love this, it isn’t ideal for guests with allergies and is something worth knowing before booking.
Late checkout
As we had a late flight, we asked whether it would be possible to keep our room for a few extra hours on the final day.
We were told it would cost €15 per hour, which I personally found extremely expensive and felt was poor value.
Lifts
There is one small lift per block, and they are frequently full. Most of the time it was quicker and easier just to use the stairs, particularly at busy times.
Overall
Overall, we had a good holiday, and there are certainly some excellent facilities here — particularly the pools, slides, children’s water area and the outstanding gym.
There are also some genuinely excellent members of staff, particularly Irfan from easyJet, who went above and beyond to help us.
However, there are several areas that need improvement, particularly the slow bar service, lack of seating around the entertainment, repetitive food, wasp problem and some aspects of the service.
There are plenty of positives, but for us, the hotel didn’t quite live up to what we expected. With improvements to the areas mentioned above, it could be a really excellent family resort."
