"We have just returned from a wonderful family holiday at Gloria Verde, travelling with our three children (aged 9, 7 and 4) as well as my parents. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and created some very special family memories.
The hotel is perfect for all ages. The food was honestly some of the best I have ever experienced at an all-inclusive resort, with an excellent variety and quality throughout our stay. The drinks selection was also fantastic, with plenty of cocktails and options available.
One of our favourite areas was the pier. The comfortable loungers provided a lovely alternative to spending the entire day around the pool, while still allowing the children to enjoy themselves nearby with plenty of shaded areas available.
The Neptuno Snack Bar deserves a special mention. Serving lunch from 12pm–4pm, it felt much more like dining in a restaurant than eating at a typical all-inclusive snack venue. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of freshly prepared options.
A very special thank you to Mehmet Ali Topal. From the moment we arrived, he went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He always greeted us with a smile, took the time to speak with us, and genuinely seemed to care that guests were enjoying their holiday. His warmth and professionalism stood out throughout our stay, and he played a huge part in making our holiday so enjoyable.
We also enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Basilika À La Carte Restaurant for my daughter’s birthday dinner, which was included within our package. It was a lovely way to celebrate a special occasion. The food was excellent, with a great selection of dishes, and the staff were attentive and welcoming throughout the evening. It felt like a real treat and was one of the highlights of our stay.
There was also a gentleman with blonde hair who regularly worked at the pier bar who was always incredibly kind, efficient and friendly. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name, but he also deserves recognition.
The only area where the hotel could improve is consistency of service. While some staff members were excellent, there were occasions where others came across as dismissive or uninterested. For example, during one lunch at the Neptuno Snack Bar, my stepfather’s meal arrived significantly later than everyone else’s, and when we politely queried it, the response was simply a shrug and “it’s busy.” On another occasion, I asked about a rosé wine option and was made to feel as though asking a question was an inconvenience. These were small moments, but they did leave an impression. At times, it felt as though some requests were met as though they were too much trouble, which was a shame given the otherwise high standards of the resort.
I also feel I should mention one disappointing experience. During our stay it was my daughter’s birthday, and we treated her to a cabana for the day and a nail treatment in the spa as a special birthday treat. The cabana experience was excellent and well worth the cost, with fantastic service throughout the day. However, the member of staff carrying out the nail treatment made the experience very uncomfortable for both my daughter and my mother. My daughter left extremely upset and spent over an hour in tears afterwards, which was heartbreaking on her birthday, especially as this was intended to be a special treat. Regardless of personal opinions about children’s nail treatments, the interaction felt unnecessarily unkind and disappointing, particularly given the cost of the service.
I would also like to recognise one of the managers, who I believe was called Yousef (apologies if I have remembered the name incorrectly). He was excellent throughout our stay, regularly walking around the resort, speaking with guests and ensuring everyone was having a good experience. He was approachable, friendly and genuinely seemed to care about guest satisfaction. His presence around the hotel certainly helped create a welcoming atmosphere.
That said, the management team were highly visible throughout our stay and it was clear they genuinely cared about the guest experience. Having managers who take the time to interact with guests makes a real difference and is something Gloria Verde does very well
Overall, Gloria Verde is a fantastic family resort with a luxurious feel, outstanding food and drink, beautiful facilities and plenty to offer guests of all ages. We genuinely loved our time here and would happily recommend it to other families.
My only suggestion would be to ensure all staff provide the same high level of customer service demonstrated by people like Mehmet Ali Topal and Yousef. If they did, this hotel would be truly exceptional."
