"My Leonardo Hotel stay was... an experience. I stayed in Glasgow earlier in my trip and felt very safe and didn't see any riff raff really, even at night. Well- I found it. They're close to Leonardo. I saw multiple people tripping out around the hotel and it wasn't an area that I'd want to walk around in a ton and I think if I had booked it earlier in my trip when I was experiencing more of Glasgow, I may have had a different perspective on Glasgow. I booked the Leonardo for one night the evening before flying back to the US.
When I checked in, the room didn't feel super clean and there were fairly big amounts of what I'm guessing (hoping) is beard hair in the bathroom sink.
At midnight myself and the rest of the hotel woke up to an actual fire alarm- the kind where you're throwing on clothes and running down the stairwells. We stood outside in the middle of the night for 30 minutes or so before being cleared to go back in. Accidents happen, but that kind of sucked.
The next morning, I got up and took a shower- only to realize about halfway through my shower that it wasn't draining and was overflowing into the bathroom. I didn't even get to finish my shower and just got out and clothed and called down to reception to let them know. While waiting, I decided to make tea and the kettle had clearly been used for.. not water. The housekeeper that responded was a total doll, cleaned up the water, fixed the drain and I asked for a clean kettle. She promptly came back with a kettle... the wrong one for the base, and someone else had to respond again. Honest mistake. Then I went to turn on the TV and it wouldn't work because of something with the HDMI cord and had a notice on the screen when I turned it on. At this point, I was ready to go.
When I checked out, the guy spoke so quietly I could barely hear him. I told him I couldn't hear and he didn't adjust his volume. While I couldn't hear much, I do know he did not ask me how my stay was and basically just pushed a few buttons on his computer and sent me off.
I wouldn't stay here again. Ate in the restaurant the evening before and got a brutally dry rosemary chicken."
