Mornington Hotel London Kensington BW Premier Collection

"Room much too small for a double room. No usable wardrobe (all compartments were full (safe, ironing board, kettle, etc.)). Only clothes hangers for hanging things up, no place for a large suitcase. Bathroom had absolutely no shelf space, no towel rack for drying, no room for toothbrush holders, etc. The only mini-shelf that existed held the toilet paper roll, which had to stay there because there were no toilet paper holders; everything got wet because of the mini-sink. The sliding door was so hard to open and close that you couldn't shut it, resulting in zero privacy in the bathroom. Too few tables for breakfast, preparation of egg dishes took way too long. 45-minute wait to get a table."

"Myself and my partner stayed in an executive room at the hotel. I requested for something special to be done as it was my partners birthday. I had a response that a card would be put on the bed but when we arrived there wasn’t one. The bed was very comfortable, nice pillows and duvet. The general cleanliness of the room was a bit of a let down. The carpet was dirty with marks and the walls the same. There was hair and crumbs in the carpet when we arrived. We did not spend much time in the hotel room so deemed it unnecessary to ask for a change of room due to this. The toilet roll holder in the bathroom was broken so the toilet roll was on the floor upon arrival. The shower however, was nice and clean and water pressure was good. We were unaware that the tea and coffee was kept in the drawer under the wardrobe so we assumed that we did not have this as a part of our room, even though it stated on there that it was. We did not query this until the morning after as we were both tired. The lift is very small and takes a while to arrive to the ground floor. We barely fit in with our bags. We appreciated the breakfast on the second day, it was lovely. However on the first day, it was so busy that there were multiple other family’s in the reception area waiting to be seated, thus we made the decision to eat out elsewhere due to being in a time restraint. This was disappointing as breakfast was meant to be included in our stay. I think it would be helpful for reception to book arrival times for each room for breakfast in the morning. Overall not an awful stay as the bed was comfortable and location ideal as it was so close to Earl’s Court tube station, however we will not be returning for a stay due to the other factors as it was a costly stay."

"Really delightful one night stay for a concert at Hammersmith Apollo. Staff were wonderful. We were offered a complimentary upgrade (family room) but staff were happy to find us the twin we originally booked (teen wanting own proper bed!). Still, it was a nice offer. They also provided extra, soft pillows (a personal quirk of mine, although the room pillows were fabulous) AND they offered us fresh milk for our tea! (Nice hospitality tray in room). So kind. The ambience of a family run hotel with the high standards of decor and comfort of a Best Western Premier (excellent shower). Location wise its exceptional. 3 mins walk to Earl's Court tube (surrounded by breakfast options, Paul's, Starbucks, Pret etc....I walked to get supplies in my PJs although the hotel buffet at £20 extra each looked like good value). The Apollo is 3 stops away on the tube which drops you in Broadway Shopping centre (leave by back entrance and the Apollo is right there). It could not have been more convenient. Its a safe well lit neighbourhood and I will absolutely stay there again."
