Ria Park Garden Hotel

"When you arrive you a met with a beautiful large auditorium, with ironwork everywhere and helpful reception and conciege staff (Special mention to Jose) who make you feel welcome from the off, although we arrived hours before checkin time we were made to feel at home and given access to get food, use the showers and pool. Our room was of a good size with a comfy bed and powerful shower over bath, the balcony area was large with 2 chairs and a small table on, looking out over the gardens and towards the sea, we even caught a sunrise from our balcony on our last morning. Breakfast was a self-service buffet with lots of choice and plenty of juices, coffees and other drinks to chose from. We ate lunch at the poolside bar each day of our stay and were impressed with the choice and quality of the food on offer, the service was fantastic, the only small disappointment was the lack of icecreams available from the bar. We ate once at the hotel restaurant which was a fantastic experience, the staff were attentive and polite, the food was tasty and well seasoned, the fish soup was amazing and the seafood cataplana was the highlight of our trip with superb content and flavours. There is an extensive wine list to suit all budgets and tastes. The gym is well stocked although some of the machines could do with some TLC, we both had massages that were very nicely conducted, the steam room wasn't warm enough for our liking however the jacuzzi was lovely and warm. Altogether an enjoyable experience and a recommended stay."

"This is a lovely hotel with one very big drawback. To start with all the positives; my (garden) room was lovely, spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent, staff were kind and helpful, and the pool was lovely. On the basis of all that I would happily give it 5 stars. The very big downside, however, was parking or the near total lack of it. The hotel has no car park - astonishing for a hotel of this quality - and it was a nightmare trying to find somewhere to park my hire car during the 10 days of my stay. Even worse the very narrow driveway around the hotel was so full of cars that there were often only mms on each side of my car as I inched my way in and out. Surely for a hotel of this quality they must be able to do better. If not, they need to warn their guests in advance of the parking problem and offer them some advice on where they can park. "

"Oh my gosh! This is a beautiful hotel and resort within walking distance to the beach. The grounds are immaculate. You could tell the staff both inside the hotel and outside were very proud of their responsibilities. The pool area is gorgeous with a waterfall and plenty of lounges. The beach is about .3km (1/4 mile) down the road. There is supposedly a shuttle available until 7:00pm. We walked easily to the beach---selected an outdoor dining restaurant (there are several) and ordered a bottle of wine to enjoy while enjoying the scenery. The food selections looked wonderful though. Breakfast at the hotel was beautiful. "
