Dom Jose Beach Hotel

"We really had an excellent time at the Dom Jose Beach Hotel. We have never seen so many cleaners in a hotel. Attention to detail and customer service was outstanding.The layout and decor is perfect. The room was of a decent size for a couple, complete with balcony and sea views. Pool was on the cool side but okay once you were in. The hotel looks directly onto the pedestrian promenade with the beach on the other side. Quarteira itself is lovely, not overly commercialised."

"Beautiful hotel with stunning beachside location. Check in was swift and all information provided. interior of hotel and public areas were spacious, modern and very clean. The reception area had a lovely aroma. Our room was a very good size, beds were comfortable and the layout of the room was great. Lots of electrical sockets which was great. Rooms have a safe and a mini fridge. lots of handing wardrobe space and shelving but no drawers in the beside units. Lovely air conditioning that wasn’t noisy. Good quality curtain that kept the room black out. Bathroom was very clean and modern but no walk in shower - shower within bath, not an issue for us but could be for elderly guests. breakfast was lovely, great selection and everything was warm and replenished. Waitresses were attentive and cleared dirty plates & cutlery quickly and if eating towards end of breakfast service always advised it was closing and if you wanted anything else. Did miss having the option of an apple juice with breakfast so would love if they added this as a drink choice, We ate lunch once within our short stay and had this on the outside bar terrace area overlooking the beach. Food was delicious and quite reasonable for a hotel. There was live music in the evenings and guests were singing and dancing along. Clientele was predominantly in the 60+ age group so we definitely brought the average age down but this did not bother us at all and may have been due to time of year. Bar in the evening does close at midnight, again may be because it’s towards the end of October. Drinks from the bar were always lovely especially the cocktails. Had to hire pool towels, €2 per day per towel, would’ve loved if these had been complementary. Overall a fantastic stay in a lovely hotel. Don’t be put off on arrival in the little street to the back side of the hotel, the front is onto the beach and pedestrian promenade so you’ll not be disappointed. Lots of little cafes, bars and restaurants in immediate area and a leisurely walk to Vilamoura marina takes around 25mins."
